And, if that's the will of the people, is it a bad thing?
I guess you'd be OK with a democracy who voted in the Nazi party .. as long as they had a majority vote ( after all any disaffected minorities facing genocide should just leave .... Right ?)What would you do?

These terrorists should be hung by the neck until dead on return.
Why not just decapitate them? It would be quicker...... ETA do you think they should be executed even if they haven't committed a criminal offence?

I wouldn't be ok with it but apart from leaving I'm not sure what I could do.
What would you do?
Ensure a political movement as extreme as the nazi party , or IS / extremist-Islam would be banned as they do not respect basic human or minorities rights. Alternatively consider banning political movements / parties aligned with or espousing intolerant religions ( may be some definitional issues with that mind you...)What would you do?

I get the impression that some on here think we should dole out ISIS-type justice for people serving with ISIS.

And I assume you'd do that via democratic means - yes?If so there isn't really a problem is there?

Agreed that is a tad excessive. As PM, what would you do? New laws? Intense interrogation of all Muslim looking people entering the UK?
Clarify the laws so there's no doubt. Interrogate where there's reasonable suspicion that somebody has committed a criminal offence.IANAL but don't our laws already permit that?

The existing elected govt have a right to define proscribed terrorist and other organizations. IS should be on that list. Being a member or supporter should I believe be a crime ... Maybe definitions and scope need broadening a bit ( good example is in France where expressing anti Semitic comments is a serious offense ... In UK we should ensure we have a similar net / scope to block individuals expressing extremist / hateful agendas against the west/ UK govt / Christianity/ Judaism etc )
That would result in multiple "PC gone mad" threads on here, but some of those can be quite amusing to read so that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.Jimbeaux said:
So, Bary is a rapper from London. Someone yesterday on here was commenting on government-sponsored music studios in these communities.
Didn't catch it all , but think they said his Dad is an asylum seeker here and is/was wanted by the Yanks on some terrorism charge of his own.I was listening to Radio1 newsbeat on the way home on Friday, and one youngg Muslim openly said he would go and fight for ISIS. He would do it to protect the name of Islam against though who didn't believe...
Now surely, this bloke should be monitored in case he boards a plane? It was a case of "oh ok then, thanks for the interview, on your way".

So, those fighting for ISIS, beheading children, etc should be allowed to pass back through customs to the US / UK and be given a hearty welcome home? To be clear, I am not speaking of "anyone" returning from fighting in the ME, I am speaking of those specifically fighting for ISIS.
A significant challenge exists with identification of such people. They aren't going to tick the "fought for terrorist entity" box on an immigration form.Edited by Jimbeaux on Monday 25th August 01:26
