Surely there's no hiding from the fact that we are dealing with Evil?

Religion is just their tool for recruitment. Brainwashing the weak minded.
Unfortunately no one is born with objectivity. It's easy to indoctrinate a developing mind.
Very true and proven through history. frown

Ok, last night a former UK official was on the tube saying that the UK has become an incubator for radical Islam, then went on to suggest how this came to be. He then stated that officials are about to embark on some actions to "tighten up" on said extremists. Not sure what that may be. It appears Boris the Mayor is about to employ some measures of his own, again, not sure what that means. Last estimate was up to 1,500 UK passport holders are fighting with ISIS; 500 Canadians, and 125 Americans.

The spook agencies have seen an uptick in the chatter that sometimes leads to a terror attack. Sept. 11 is coming up, in case that matters. These fools are only a plane or car ride away in many cases. To complicate things, UK passport holders can enter the US without a Visa (for 90 days), as can Yanks to the UK, etc. The worry of a homeland attack is taking up as much energy as deciding what to do with ISIS in the field.

Some swivel-eyed looney from the U.K. named Choudary (sp?) was on our news last night laying it all down for us. Speaking of Sharia law spreading worldwide, etc. Pointing out that it is inevitable, etc. "Islam will be coming to a shore near you to unshackle us all from that which binds us." or some such crap. The interviewer stated that he is a Christian and does need wish for Islam to unshackle him. That lead to some ramblings that appeared to amount to something along the lines of that is not a choice. How come nobody has "accidently" run over this fool as he crossed the street by now? It is not like you don't know where he lives, afterall I am fairly certain you all are paying for his house.

Can we sub contract the job to you guys, rendition.

Seriously freedom seems thoroughly abused by a few. Extraordinary situation, needs exceptional reaction.

We tolerate the intolerant because we believe tolerance is the answer.

"All lawyers are liars, I am a lawyer."

It's pretty hard to see how the West can avoid deliberately fking itself up the arse on this one.

No less swivel eyed than a lot of republicans who believe in creationism.

But I agree that neither is representative so perhaps British Muslims can keep Anjem Choudary at home and you can put Bobby Jindal back in his box.

Western democracy will eventually win. Fundamentalism of any sort is hard work. The overwhelming majority of people just want to live a quiet, law abiding life. All this running around, trying to take over the world is futile.

Theocracies don't make the goods or provide the services that ordinary folk crave. There's no long term future for these blood soaked murderers. They are already turning in on themselves.

I believe Mr. Choudary interviewed via satelite, so he was still home. I don't see him popping over on a plane for an interview. smile

Jim, there are plenty of us who would like to see such arsewipes meet an untimely end. Quite why we haven't deported him, his family, friends and followers is beyond me.. Surely they'd enjoy the blossoming islamic stpit more than the free ride they are afforded here.

Perhaps because he's British, born in England. Where do you suggest that your government deports British citizens to?

Australia used to be a good place, perhaps we need a new one.

In the long term I agree Blib, give us a Caliphate and we will quickly miss Facebook, X Factor and Ferrari. My point was that in accepting the unacceptable we will royally shaft ourselves in the interim, hundreds of years of very hard earned experience will have to be ignored in the interest of cohesion. We need to be more like them to stop them being like them.

Will be interesting to see how many of the British IS fighters will ultimately be linked back to Choudary and his various organisations. I'm guessing quite a few, in one form or another. Doubtless it's already been asked of him, but given a sharia state now exists, one wonders why he's not raced there to live under its glorious rules?

Where would be the benefits?

Somewhere more suited to their particular needs?

eta pretty sure in the near future choudray will be revealed as having been turned by the security services; as alternative to a one way ticket to a black site in eastern europe
