Do you genuinely believe that the militants in Syria and Iraq beheading captives and murdering the innocent as well as the Iraqi and Syria forces don't hate "our" way of life? And aren't motivated by that contempt for and wish to change western style societies? Even if they do have other motives.
I really don't think they care if we watch Eastenders, or make our women wear short skirts.

If I was a guessing man, I would say it has something to do with foreign policy.

Al Qaeda did not even exist until the Iraq/Afganistan invasion. Now from the ashes rises ISIS.

I was referring to the Iranians.

With regards to ISIS/ISIL/IS they pretty much hate EVERYBODY who doesn't subscribe to their particular brand of fundamentalism. It must be one of the few times when every single country in the world has been united against one organisation.
Oh, right. Got you.

Seriously?
They were Bin Laden's army.
They were quietly getting on with enforcing his ruthless dictatorship. You could say, they were keeping the peace (in the wrong way).

The U.S. Government certainly did. They armed and continue to arm them when it was/is convenient to do so.

Mmm, yes. To be fair, the Kuwaitis were accused of stealing 2.5 billion barrels of oil from Iraq's Rumaila oil fields by sliding drills into Iraqi oil pipelines.

hehe
This is a fact he even went to the UN to get Kuwait to pay for the barrels of oil but they didn't pay(because the US goverment told they'd support them should Iraq come calling) now I don't know the price of a barrel of Oil is but if someone owed me 2.5 billion I might come & knock on your door.

Video apparently shows another British hostage (Alan Henning) at the end who will be next.

I said before that mr Haines was already dead. Out of respect I never mentioned that I had been informed that mr Haines was ex military, and in reality a security advisor and not an aid worker. However our government need to wake up and smell what's happening. I won't name the new bloke you see in the video (and I truly hope no one else does until it's officially released).

However yet again. The poor bloke is already dead.

All the videos are taken at the same time. (Same lighting, same people, more generalised scripts). However this will go in forever. Unless we and the rest of the world try and cut it out.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We need to support Assad. We need boots on the ground, we need our airforce to be dropping bombs.

This is happening abroad, however it could easily happen in a council house near you. If we do not wipe out many of these mentalists we will only let them grow. I'm not a fan of going to war, or sending our soldiers to fight and die - however this is what they/I signed up for. The longer we allow them to grow the larger the eventual battle will be.

Upset with myself tonight. They want to draw us into a war. And I can't be the better man and say we should ignore it. My head says stay out, but when I see innocent people being mutilated and massacred I feel something awful inside. Feel free to rip my post to shreds. Very upset that an ex serviceman has had this done to him. Was so proud to see the invictus games, now all I feel is a cold anger. For that reason they have beaten me tonight.

May I ask, do you know from inside information and sources close to the situation that the hostages are dead (have all been killed, already?) or is it that the context of the videos leads you to surmise so?

Mainly my opinion. But supported by a few people who should know more, certain things give it away. I've said the stuff I see and anyone can. Im not privy nor would I share anything more details. Suffice to say I am very confident that all the videos we have seen have been taken at the same time. Atleast in terms of what is shown on video when people are talking. The last part is likely to have been shot at a different time,
