Internet-hit near miss biker guilty http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-28856485

Why on earth would you upload a video to YouTube of yourself riding like a tit? Also just goes to show that you need to be careful what you upload as someone is always watching!

But he clearly states that he was in full control - until he crashed!

'...on the Cat and Fiddle, a road branded Britain's most dangerous'

No road is dangerous, only the users on them (like the one in question!).

Fancy uploading that. Oh dear.

Eh, that road isn't that dangerous (or fun). Take the road to whaley bridge however..

Was it the solid white lines or the 3 STOP signs that didn't alert him to the fact that the corner may indeed be a bit tighter than he thought.

What a bell-end, nearly causing a nasty head on collision and ending himself to boot.

Out of interest, why is it all scrawny little scrotes like that always seem to walk with the same sort of arrogant "I'm tougher than I really am" swagger?

True.

I can remember coming up from Macc that way in my first TVR Griffith and exiting a bend quick, but in control, to see another TVR (a 400SE) doing likewise coming out of the next corner towards me. Two guys, plenty of speed, plenty of fun, no drama.

Looking at the video I don't think he was going too fast to take that bend, looks like target fixation, he saw the car and rode toward it.

Complete tt posting it on youtube though.

He was going too fast to stop in the distance he could see to be clear.

That left hander's not particularly tight for the speed he was going, the great pussy. Hasn't he ever heard of counter steering?
Prolly to busy giving it the biggun' for putting a move on the bloke he passed over double-whites.

What a plank for uploading it to YouTube though, some people don't have the brain they're born with!

What a bell..d, must try his unique cornering technique of approaching a clearly maked left hand bend by hugging the low stone wall and earth bank on the left and riding straight on !!!!! NOT

Could be both... looks fast to me (but cam images are always trickey to gauge that from), that might be contributory, but target fixation is the main thing, he didn't even try to make the corner.

Me, I'd just have ridden on the correct side of the road to avoid a collision.

He should have had no trouble getting round the corner at that speed but if you watch the rest of the video his road positioning is generally rubbish and he was riding way to fast for his level of skill. Agree it was likely target fixation, I assume he saw the car, panicked, went for the brake and stood the bike up rather than just leaning in to the corner.
