Can't disagree with that but the bottom line is this stuff is copyrighted. It's stealing. It's no different to walking into HMV and walking out with a blu ray disc, but because it's behind closed doors and 'victimless' then it goes on. It can't be stopped altogether but Google in particular could probably stop 75% of pirating tomorrow if they were so minded. If you needed to know where to look for this stuff as opposed to just googling for it and finding a load of links then far fewer people would bother.
Rubbish. it is completely different from shop lifting, it is not stealing since it does not deprive the original owner. It is a breach of licence/contract and should be a civil matter.

You are just falling for the bullst lobbying and propaganda of the 'Media' industry just like the politicians have. These laws are for the benefit of massive internation businesses not the artists.

You really need to read up on http://creativecommons.org/
if you made your living from stuff that people feel entitled to rip off just because it is easy you would probably have a different view.
Probably, but who is right?

Generally, if society finds something acceptable (which it must be said it does with non-commercial piracy to an extent, in much the same way it does with domestic use of cannabis) then perhaps it's the law that needs looking at rather than the perpetrators.
I'd probably reconsider my business model. But as Warner Bros & Disney grossed more than $8billion in 2013,and Hollywood in total grossed more than $40billion, perhaps not.

That's part of the problem. They wanted to maintain the status quo of their business model reselling you all your favourite movies and music on every new medium invented. Unfortunately the digital age put an end to that.

They should have been pioneering digital streaming rather than dragging their heels. It's absurd the movie industry didn't get together to create a one stop streaming service where their entire library was available to rent or purchase. Instead we have fragmentation where Netflix has a certain catalogue and Lovefilm another, etc

Correct me if I'm wrong but they have created their own, isn't that what Ultra Violet is? Granted not as popular and it's not quite as good the competitors but all the big companies apart from Disney were on board with it last time I checked. A couple more years and I would have thought it'd be a decent system.

Typical rubbish and inaccurate headline to the BBC article "Man jailed for filming Fast And Furious in cinema"

He wasn't jailed for that FFS. He was jailed for what he did afterwards.

He was described by the judge as "cocksure", so I suspect he wound up everyone through the trial and paid the price with the thick end of the sentencing guidelines.

Just read the link, that judge needs a good kick in the nuts to wake him up, if it's a bird, a good kick in the arse, that isn't even near to being justice.
