Thought this was quite interesting seems that the emma watson stuff was a hoax to attack 4chan.

If a company has set the Emma Watson stuff up as a hoax just as PR stunt then I think that's bang out of order. If she has taken any private photos on an iphone then she must've been dreading the countdown thing to see just what exactly was going to be released then only to find out a company just wanted some publicity. I know publicity is a big thing in the media industry but not at the expense of causing major stress to one person and implying a group would do something like just to get at someone.
That's assuming she has taken any, if she hasn't then she must've just rolled her eyes and got on with life.
Are you suggesting that the threat of releasing the pictures of emma watson is worse than them actually being released for the 15-40 year olds to fap over???

I presume not, however, it could be a double bluff. if some ways I feel for her, she has just after all become a UN "spokesperson" - if I were her then I'd be deleting everything I have on the phone, PC, cloud, whatever...not that that is definitive in itself, but once its out there, it out there....

And these are carrying on. Although they are down to 'C List' celebrities now like Allegra Carpenter.

Well, it was Kelly Brook last week. Not that you saw anything other than she has willingly shown before...

Also, Dr Who had his wang out.

True, missed that. I just check every so often out of some morbid curiosity and have a quick scan through the names.

People need to be very cautious (don't bother) if they decide to search for those ones given the average age of its user base.

I thought that when I heard of snapchat it's just encouraging kids to send these pics and nothing is ever really deleted. If I had teenage kids that app would be banned.

The images have been taken from a 3rd party applications / website where people have been "intercepting" their incoming Snapchats and saving them. People who've used Snapchat "properly" haven't had any pictures / videos compromised.

The Snapchat leak is meant to contain a number of pics of people under the age of 16, as i think it is a popular kids app. Be careful what you go looking for.

Didn't even know about the snapchat one.

Google "fappening" for the celebrity leaks.

Much obliged wink
No interest in the latest teen snapchat craze - that was surely only a matter of time. It always sounded like some kind of an idiot trap... or maybe i'm just old and out of touch. lolz

If you want to see it just google the snappening.

A mate at work had a look - he said it was just full of European teenagers pulling duck faces and pictures of cakes.

Then he sent me this example of a photo on there to show how high quality the porn is laugh

Indeed - it is the literal version of 'a growler'.

The Snappening is not something I think that anyone who values their freedom/lack of a criminal record should be looking for. Who knows what action the Police may chose to take in relation to this issue and given that it is well known that there are many under 18's using it the "I never thought there might be pictures of some 14 year old's todgger/etc" isn't really going to wash.

Snapchat has been a disaster for it's users waiting to happen for years.

Neither are the celebrity photos (maybe not the criminal record part), but apparently a lot of people seem to think that celebrities (and their bodies) are public property.

In cases such as the celebrity stuff, where those depicted are over the age required to consent to being photographed, its hard to see what offence is being committed by viewing the images online. Obviously that changes if you distribute them and whoever made the initial copy might be in hot water for a range of offences.
IANAL, and am ready to acknowledge and learn from my errors, but how can looking at the fappening be legally any different to any other celeb leak (such as the original Pammy tapes)?
Dogs of law, care to bark?

Legally if you're not hosting or didn't take them in the first place just by viewing I wouldn't imagine it's an offence, but I don't think it's right either.
