and you KNOW there is a video somewhere! No one, in that position, just runs off a couple of still images!
At least, thats why I'd imagine! (runs off to delete icloud account!)
If I'd ever been in that position the last thing I'd have been capable of doing would be turning on video mode At least, thats why I'd imagine! (runs off to delete icloud account!)
As the dust settles on this apparently seismic internet event -and the tissues on the floor of bedrooms become steadily more crisp, there are some interesting issues to mull over.
This has been a kind of virtual riot fueled by the cult of celebrity. It has been the power of celebrity and little else that has turbo-charged the frenzy seeing as many of the images are badly-lit, tawdry, unintentional page 3 selfies. Not my idea of the perfect 'fap' storm. The tweeted anguish from the individuals is understandable but some of the haughty comments from male celebrity friends shows how disconnected the millionaire Hollywood celebrity lifestyle is from reality. Everyone has the right to privacy but at the same time I struggle to see the individuals as 'victims'.
If a small percentage of the legal costs, internet policing and fall-out generated within this turmoil was to be spent on tracking down the perpetrators of child pornography or even 'revenge porn' victims, the world would be a better place. Far from being disgusted at the antics of those on 4chan or reddit, as a parent I find it almost reassuring that so many blokes have been surfing the darker reaches of the web for what is essentially an illicit stash of 'reader's wives' images.
Hacking people's private stuff is not human nature at its best, and if it were my wife or daughter I'd share their pain, but I hope there's some perspective. Even if the pictures had some impact on their career I doubt that many of the women affected would need to work again. Life would go on. Meanwhile, the very worst human behaviour continues relatively unchecked, generating wrecked lives amongst the most vulnerable people in society who can't afford the lawyers and who'll never experience the incoming tide of sympathy.

In 2014, is "being seen naked" on the internet really that big a deal? It ain't 1865 again you know, everyone already knows what boobies look like, and you don't have to emigrate to Australia if you are found to be have sex outside of wedlock.......
What about 'being seen naked with cum all over your face'?or 'being seen naked with someone whacking their cock into your eye socket'?
or 'being seen naked with a pair of hair straighteners buried in your lady garden'?

I browsed the list on Reddit, I think I might be somewhat out of touch.
I can honestly say I do not recognise the names of 95% of those "celebs".
I am 40, is this lack of celeb knowledge a normal state of affairs or am I living in a cave ?
Yes me as well. Kirstin Dunst, yes. The others, no.I can honestly say I do not recognise the names of 95% of those "celebs".

The internet does appear to have gone into meltdown over this though ...
I have my own theory abouthow the pictures were released, but I'll keep that to myself...

Hacker didn't think this through very well.
He could have made some serious coin out of this.
You're presuming it's over then? Nobody knows how long they have been gathering everything together. He could have made some serious coin out of this.
They could let it blow over (haha) and then have another release of images/videos, rinse and repeat for the next year or so, if they'd have dumped everything in one go then it would have been forgotten pretty quickly however my guess is that they are going to keep people on their toes for quite some time.
