Jack the Ripper finally identified
Discussion
On the night of the double murder when he was interupted mid-mutilation of Liz Stride just off Berners Street he ran off. I think he ran off in a certain direction and he wasn't seen because he was running home, a route he knew well. His later 2nd murder in Mitre Sq being opportunistic, so I thought his home/lodgings would be nearby or further on from Mitre Square.
However it's in completely the wrong direction around 0.8 miles to the wes of where Kosminski was said to have lived on Greenfield St (now Greenfield Rd) which is only 0.2 miles north of Berners St (now Henriques St).
That doesn't work for me. If you were discovered murdering someone you'd run to a safe place, before the police and vigilante gangs were alerted.
Perhaps Kosminski murdered Eddowes but only Eddowes and he wasn't the Ripper just a mentally ill copycat murderer?
I still think the identity of the "Ripper" and number of victims will never be known.

From reading it he says he went and looked at the Ripper documents at the National Archives, but then fails to mention if Kominski was literate enough in English to be able to write the Jack the Ripper letters which were sent to the police. If he wasn't, then who sent them?

There's always been a lot of doubt as to whether any of the Ripper letters were actually sent by the killer.FourWheelDrift said:

I agree. We might hit upon the 'right' person but I don't think that it will ever be beyond all reasonable doubt and, to be honest I think we'd be lucky to get balance of probability.
More chance of someone turning up with all the evidence and proof as to who killed JFK!

Round these parts it's always been local lore that Kosminski was the ripper. A mate of mine worked in the Leavesden hospital as a nurse during the 80's and it was just accepted as fact passed down through working generations.
Regardless of this rather shall we say *interesting* development, I'm not sure Aaron Kosminski fits the profile of The Ripper. His known character traits hardly ring true when you think about an intelligent, careful & particularly brutal serial killer.I still think Klosowski is the most convincing suspect.
