Union flag. It's only a Union Jack when it's on a jack staff

In that general region.

Salmond will be starting the day tomorrow having to drink a great big steaming cup of "NO" with his breakfast. Probably.

Voting closed now then? I hope Scotland seized the moment, it won't come again.

Urban myth according to Wiki "The claim that the term "Union Jack" properly refers only to naval usage has been disputed, following historical investigations by the Flag Institute in 2013" but here's not the place to debate it.

I believe the Scots to be a largely conservative (small c) bunch and that faced with a totally uncertain future they will do the right thing and vote NO.

I hope it is a yes vote. I was born and grew up on the West coast. Amazing place and Im sure that the people will manage if independent from rUK. It wont be easy and I am sure there will be tough times, but do I know that there will be an unquantifiable part of themselves that will be so immensely proud of having the chance do show what they are made of and have a bloody good crack at it.
An iScotland will hardly end up like South Sudan, they are a wily bunch and have what it takes to make some large, and much needed changes that independence will ask of them.

Regardless of how it ends up tomorrow morning, I wish both sides all the best and know that all the bizarre fears on here about civil wars and vigilantes will fade as quickly as the night when the results come in.

ETA - I;ve been south of the border for 11 years now so didnt actually vote...

I reckon a Yes. As it's so close all the "can't be bothered" crowd will get off their arses.

Will be funny tomorrow when customers phone up "..and what currency will you be paying with? The Numpty? Sorry..<click>

Although I voted no, I am total agreement in what you say, there really is no place for intimidation in our society.
