This Salmond effigy may be mildly amusing to some, but it's offensive and downright inappropriate.

I've been witness to dozens in my time and I'm quite sure there was a widely pubicised hinging of a Saddam Hussain effigy*.
MEH!
- It might not have been an effigy

Edinburger you are really making an idiot of yourself here now. There is a long standing tradition of effigy burning on bonfire night in Lewes. Over the years effigies have been burnt of any number of famous people, including Cameron, Clegg, Thatcher, Scargill ... in fact it's almost a badge of honour for someone to have their effigy go up in flames. It wasn't burnt - good decision.

But then, I suspect you know this don't you... You are just determined to get huffy and puffy with synthetic outrage, for lord alone knows what reason.
It is depressing and rather telling that the only person / people of recent times to object and cry "abuse by Tory Toffs" ( I wonder who was burning the Tatcher and Cameron effigies if thats the case) is your own Mr Salmond and his supporters.
Salmond, determined to see offence where there really is none, is simply revealing himself to be a thin skinned, humourless pygmy of a man. His supporters, including you, should start thinking about how to build a secure, prosperous future for Scotland within the UK, because to be candid all your recent efforts have done is to damage the reputation of Scotland and make people even more uncertain as to whether they should invest in a country full of people that behave as you do.

Just when the answer to my question of "what are we changing too?" is "fk off and die you english traitor" i find it somewhat difficult to embrace that change.
And remind me again
Which way did you vote?

the correct answer would be to say that Salmond was pleased to be honored by being the star attraction
Instead his supporters have made scotland out to be a bunch of humorless wkers
Quite revealing to see the (faux?) outrage from Salmond's supporters about this bonfire thing. Quite symptomatic of the nature of the cult - if the leader is questioned or attacked they all amass ranks to defend him. Can you imagine an outrage of no voters if Darling or Brown or Cameron were on a bonfire? of course not.
Obviously it could be seen as offensive to use cliches such as "brainwashed" and "cult" but SNP behaviour seems very much like this.
Have a peek at any SNP press release (I see a fair few shared on my Facebook, usually with a tagline about how the world is out to get Scotland, or the Better Together parties are intent on cutting spending (deficit, duh?)) and you'll find fk all of any substance beyond simple, divisive, blame-game politics.
But we knew that already.
