Can someone explain the income tax thing to me please? If Scotland retains it's income tax, presumably there won't be any flowing across the border the other way? So Barnet won't be applied and there'll be a reduction in budget? Before we get onto levels of tax raised per capita in the different regions?
I believe the correct answer is "fk knows".

I assume there's some sort of plan to measure income tax earned in Scotland, and then if tax collected falls in Scotland, then some budget changes. But that seems anti-Barnett formula. So I dunno confused

Doesn't matter what the Smith report says really - we're heading for the break-up of the UK. Blair's pea-brained idea of devolution ("to stop the Nats in their tracks!") set the ball rolling.
As Tam Dalyell said when Devolution was accepted - "the only thing Westminster can control now is the speed at which Scotland gains its independence". Good old Tam, the only politician with any intelligence/nous.
We can only stand by and watch the economy, run by free-spending socialists, turn to ashes - along with the SNP - (that bit will be pleasing). Even a socialist/communist country like Scotland will get sick of tax + spend and cradle-to-grave nannying.
All I hear about up here is neverendum and the fight for the Labour leadership. The only utterance from the useless, kick-boxing lesbian representing the Unionist party is that she has a girl-crush on Susan Sarandon.
God help us.

Still wetting myself at the fact SNP want to put 80% duty on buy to lets where landlords have >2... Fluffnick has been exceptionally quiet following that disclosure... Why? Well he himself has confirmed to own a significant number of buy to let's... Hmm painful and a direct cost for him wanting more than the status quo.

What's the source for this 80% figure? My googling has been unsuccessful.

A poster flagged it up an SNP comment earlier on here.

Yes I asked then too, but no source was given. I'm not sure if it's a baseless Chinese whisper.

It would be gloriously funny

I would be tempted to vote SNP just to see him loose 80% of his income

I know it makes me sound bitter and twisted

but

I am towards the 45% morons as they screamed and screamed for a referendum

they got it and lost

and still they scream

A baseless Chinese whisper? We couldn't have this thread deviating into discussions based on baseless Chinese whispers!

It was a different matter when we had months and months of your shouts and screams about losing your house, about emigrating, and all the rest of it.

Hoping someone loses 80% of their income makes you a very nasty piece of work indeed.

It's good to try and keep some semblence of order. However I appreciate the sentiment, it's very difficult to do so when the SNP run your country.

Well done you noticed

Maybe if had respected the settled will of the scottish people and hadn't banged on non stop about being oppressed and poor scotland i might not be such an ahole

If i didn't have Nats telling me i was not welcome in scotland

If i didn't have Nats telling me i was a traitor

If i didn't have nats telling me i would be hung as from a lampost if i voted No

Then i might be more charitable towards them

What does it make a government that implements such a scheme, then?

I've seen no evidence that they are trying to implement this scheme.
