Ed Balls on Marr show today

He was pushed really hard about Scottish MPs voting on English tax rates and bands given it would be devolved so you could have a scenario where by Scottosh MPs vote for English tax rises (yet give themselves a tax cut). Balls responds its a Tory politics game don't believe it
He then went on about what they would do re tax and spend - but Marr then said so all those changes add up to a little bit so what big change are you going to make to eliminate the £75billion deficit? Silence.
Then pushed so will you keep to the current spending cuts to the public sector - answer yes.

Nothing stopping you from donating everything you own to the state
Nothing to motivate me to do so either.

My view is that we get rather a lot of civilisation for the fairly modest taxes that we pay...

No, that's your dimwitted logic and please don't use that term as it's offensive to others and quite derogatory, there's a good lad

Also 'equality' isn't about making everyone 'equal', you realise that too?

It's about giving everyone the same opportunity. When a youngster from a council from the East End who started out selling car aerials from the back of a van can become a Lord with a net worth of £900m, I'd say the country has it about right in giving people equal opportunity to succeed.

After surviving rural Norfolk these last three weeks I am saddened by the destitution and poverty currently scouring the region. It certainly always has been a poor area but I don't remember it being quote like this in the past. Rural Scotland has a lot more going for it.

I'm well aware of what equality and the ever growing gap between the haves and the have nots in the UK is, cheers

Your use of "one" extreme example from years ago really backs up your point though

FIrst one I thought of, having been in The Apprentice thread just now.

Try JK Rowling then; from state benefits to multi-millionaire in five years, 12th richest woman in Britain.

Salmond has convinced the nats that they are too wee, too poor and too stupid to achieve anything without independence.

Blame the Scottish parliament for any "unequal" and "unfair" society you have. They've had the tools to change things AND a subsidy from the rest of the UK.

The problem is that the SNP government has nothing to gain from Scotland improving whilst being part of the UK. Much easier to play the blame game.

Such militant action rolleyes The fact that this is insignificant in the overall job of the ASDA shelf stackers speaks volumes for the intellect of such people - reminds me of the quote "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt" but to go one better and advertise it to the world on social media!
