And laugh like a fking drain when

England claims 90% of the oil fields as per international law You've misspelt Scotland
When the financial sector moves out of scotland good riddance to toxic debt and a fresh start
You get kicked out of the EU you can't be kicked out when you're not a member but a successor state
When the international borrowing markets tell you to swivel due to walking away from the debt mmm deal with a debt free IS or a swimming in debt rUK?
When big business moves south due to your high tax culture you obviously didn't read the corporation tax plan for an IS
When england closes the border to secure the border against your no border controls concept And risk challenging Ireland's sovereignty vis-a-vi the CTA?
Do you think we should be taking up arms against the english if they claim all our oil?

1. I suggest you read a little about how the UN deals with split of resources
2. I don't think you understand what your financial sector does, or why it would be vital to IS
3. The whole successor state thing was done to death in the referendum debate. Mr Salmonds assertions on the topic were worthless then and still are now. Your continued reliance on them betrays your inability to see the truth for what it is.
4. Using which currency? And you'd hardly be debt free in IS. You already spend more than you earn - even Mr Salmond admitted that - and that was before oil prices crashed! The rUK on the other hand will be able to continue to borrow and grow as it is now.
5. A genuine laugh out loud moment at this one. Simply put, any IS Government would be unable to resist the temptation to tax all those rich businesses, if only to be able to keep the myriad of promises made to their voter base. In any event, the rUK will be offering a secure place from which to do business with a central bank and a currency of some standing. What exactly will IS have, aside from the toxic combination of an envy problem and a hungry appetite for cash?
6. CTA? Is that the best you can come up with? Blimey, talk about grasping at straws! Don't you worry though, rUK will be able to do a deal with Eire.

Answers:
1. No he means the rUK. International treaties suggest existing raw material reserves should be divided on the basis of population. See S Sudan.
2. I am sure you will do much better without a financial sector. Mind you might miss the jobs and the tax revenue. But at least you will be a much fairer society, All equally poor.
3. I agree and that why it will take 10 years for you to join the EU.
4. So how will you convince a UK Parliament to pass an act graining Scotland independence without ant share of debt?
5. I did and almost cracked up laughing. Tax from oil and financial services gone and you will still cut CT and raise expenditure. Magic money tree???
6. Your answer to 3. Scotland would be a successor state so would not be party to the CTA which would continue between the rUK and Ireland. I do think as part of the rUK we would be agreeable to some from of border agreement which allows both side visa free access for tourism. Clearly being outside the EU post independence Scots would need to apply for work visas. Shame about the need to create all those border controls but at least it creates more job in the north.

Quite a random swimmer to choose - interesting that you chose Duncan. I've never heard that alliterative phrase before.

I didn't find your name.
He's probably the most recognisable swimmer in the UK (other than maybe Tom Daly) so hardly interesting, just coincidence that you both share a common 1st name

After seeing some subsequent posts I have an inkling that you where given my name by equally odious creeps

I never said you were anything to do with any other poster. Paranoid, much!?
It seems you can't even keep a track of what you posted previously wobble
No, you dafty. I don't know what your name is, I just took a random name as you called me what I thought a random name. No need to think so highly of yourself wink

Your bold "of whom of course you know" was relating to ViperPict, and you'll know of him because you've been reading this thread for a while, IIRC. As I said - paranoid much!?

I don't know your name, and you don't know mine. Wind yer neck in.

If your name was Duncan, it's a helluva coincidence as the name was in reference to the "diving in" comment (Duncan Goodhew, you know the bald swimmer)

Definitely! IIRC, he was down on his luck before he started training our local Baths in East Kilbride.

Boy worked hard and done good for himself!

ETA:- Oh, he's a unionist is he? Fancy that?

There was never a chance for a CU after separation. Zilch, zero, nada etc. We have just been observing the consequences of currency union without political union in the Eurozone, and there is no way the rUK would have risked that outcome.
