Scotland is a region of the United Kingdom.
Factually incorrect.

It's one of the founding partners of the UK which is a supra-national state rather than a country.
I didn't said that. Please do courtesy of not mis-quoting me.
Yes you did, on page 380:

Scotland is a region of the United Kingdom.
It has exactly the same representative rights and ratios to every other region.

There 650 seats divvied up per 90,000 or so people of the United Kingdom.
How do you make it more fair and equal than that?

There have also been a lot of very prominent Scots in the top jobs over the years too.

You need to explain why you don't the this as fair and equal.
I don't think I altered your meaning by removing the context, it was certainly not my intention.

You are correct- my apologies. smile

I thought you were quoting my point on Scotland not being a country - but a nation... ( previous page )

Pardon me? Are you doubting I spend a lot of time in England? Because you think I hate the English, presumably?

I do actually. I go to my office in London one day every week and often to client meetings around the UK other days.

Also my in-laws live in England as do half my mates.

Yeah, I really hate the English rolleyes
Because your contribution is flawed to say the least.

Was Northern Ireland a country?
No, not in a recognised use of the term. Ireland was/is.
Aw I wanted arp to say it wink

Was Wales ever a "country" too actually? My limited knowledge is that there was a variety of leaders of different areas, the English came and it was part of England. (If only we had a Welshman here!)

Wales was a separate country and is still I think technically a principality.

That's true Wales isn't a country merely a principality - always a point of banter in Wal v Eng games rugby

LMAO at the impotent wailing of the demented regarding Scotland only contributing to the "Union" over the past 30 years (I dare them to say that to the face of any of the families who lost relatives in the 2 Great Wars) and the digging up of Darian, which was initially a joint venture between the English, Scots & Dutch until the vested interests of the East India Company allied with a complicit English Parliament scuppered the initial proposal

The Darian episode illustrates how duplicitous and cowardly the English where then and in the future, bottled it from fighting the Spanish, English Parliament blocking Scotland from trade routes/communications etc and bribing the Scottish Nobles as they had no appetite to enter into another war with Scotland

The great thing is this bitterness from the BritNats is the main reason why the Union will ultimately fail and the vestiges of a once great empire will be laid bare for all to see and all that will be left is England's green and pleasant land

Yet these cowardly duplicitous english have kept you the "true scot" from ever succeeding

What does that say about the "true scots"?

Thankfully i'm not a "true scot" so i am doing very well thank you

And it shows what drives you lot as it has proven not to be a desire for fairness or independence

And i am not a britnat as i have no love for the union i would of happily voted YES if it had made even the slightest bit of sense

I've been very clear - the lack of contribution has been financial. Scots have always been good at fighting, especially themselves, so it's natural that lots fought and died during the two World Wars...

The rest of your post is classic, and supports exactly what I've said. Darian failed to compete with the English Empire. Your elite were bought as they were broke. EIC out competing and bankrupting your trades. The Spanish weren't exactly diving into war were they, after they got turned around.

Poor poppets. Darian would have been fine if not scuppered by the English.

Colonial trade would have been great if not for the English.

The English ran scared from the Spanish, if the sinking of the Armada is forgotten. Hell, a game of bowls was finished we were that worried.

You seem to think that wars are only fought by fighting. They're not, which is why you lost, and your nobles came running for English gold.

Keep up the victim card chap, one day you'll let us know why Scotland would have been the greatest, if it weren't for them pesky English.

I'm not sure the 'establishment' as you put it (whoever they are) are stting themselves.

The Tories are making as much political capital as they can in the run up to the election to point out the problems of a Labour/SNP pact for obvious election reasons. Both Labour and the SNP have handed them this 'weapon' and they are going to use it - maybe to quite an effect.

Labour appear to be 'caught in the headlights' and may well be stting themselves and can't seem to decide what to do and, as usual, Ed is dithering around.

SNP appear to be back tracking and softening their demands as they realise their initial naive 'bravado' was pretty inept and is not working out too well for them having handed the 'weapon' to the Tories. It appears that it is the SNP in retreat now and may well be stting themselves.

Why?

Is it because i hate the scottish?

Nope i like the scots and i was in born in scotland and still live in scotland

The reason i am stting myself

As the SNP idiots believe in the magic money tree and believe that we should reverse all spending cuts, increase spending by tens of billions a year and it will all be paid for by taxing houses in the south east of england

The SNP couldn't be trusted to run a childs piggy bank

Err the mansion tax is a Labour Policy not a SNP one (and for the record it's transparent vote winning tripe)

Also Labour argue that the SNP spending plans are Austerity Max

Wow, you sound almost proud of the empire in that post.

Course it would have been the number 1 city if it weren't for the English.

Rubbish

The scots are a morally superior race and took no part in the bd english empire

Which is why there is nowhere in the world named after scotland or its cities

Not one single place is called new caledonia, there is only one perth, no one has ever named a place after dundee.

Not one single sign of scots being throughout the english empire

And when you go to America. not one single person will tell you they are related to people from scotland
