The worst thing about this whole situation is I know a few people who aren't going to bother voting - I mean, what the actual fk?

Do a few hours research or follow your heart, Yes, No, it doesn't matter which you choose as long as you do it with conviction, surely apathy is a fairly lame ideal in a situation like this?
The good news is that the turnout is expected to exceed 80% or registered voters, with an estimated 97% of potential voters registered.

The level of political engagement has definitely increased. smile

The Declaration For Yes - would only be valid - with those signing to then receive a postal confirmation in plain envelope to the householder - to then log back in and type in a secure code.

Anything less than that is arse gravy.

But you are a clever cookie - you know this - right?
It's far from rigorous, true, but it's probably robust enough to be in the right ballpark.

It's first purpose is as information for the Yes campaign, it's value depends on it discarding false positives...
Arse gravy again.... what is the double check?

Give me the link and I'll sign up. And I'll sign up everyone in my street too.

I doubt any serious analysis has been done on the signatories. It was only a propaganda device for the SNP, after all.

If it ends up as close as it appears it may at the moment I honestly think, but hope I am wrong, there will be major upheavals in Scotland regardless of which way the vote goes as, in effect, 50%ish won't be happy with the result.

Sadly it will be no after more trinkets and subsidies are given to all and sundry - it's like keeping an old girlfriend because your relatives like her but she is a lazy troublemaking fart bag who threatens to leave you so you give her more baubles to stay.
Good analogy.

And like said fartbag, she'll still fk off in the end.

My estimate (of votes cast) 65-70% No.
All my relatives have been so intimidated that they're keeping their heads down. I suspect the same is true Scotland-wide.

Regardless of the outcome this can only be good news, I only hope that those who have suddenly taken an interest in politics continue their participation, views/opinions not withstanding!

I hope that those who had to register to vote realise that the authorities now know where to collect their outstanding poll tax from hehe

I know a family of four who had no intention of voting but have now declared an interest as they are terrified of a Yes vote, so I'd guess many more No voters have done that too. Fluff assuming that the sudden interest in the political process is good for the SNP may be disappointed when he realises that a lot of them just want to make sure the idiots don't get in and turn Scotland into the world's biggest ghost town smile

60% No
40% Yes
Turnout 90%

It cannot be anything less or the whole moronic cycle will continue. I can only hope that the unprecedented turnout is because there is a lot of folk(me included) that were happy with the status quo and preferred to keep a distance from the mentalists in the Scottish government.
Voter apathy in my opinion has led to this, and all this episode has proved to me is that I need to do my part to guarantee my future prosperity.

If it's a yes, I cannot see my future here anymore, especially if the general Yes demographic are in charge of running a country!

This is my fear

Seeing the outer fringes of the YES team i think we will see a huge clamp down on those seen as undesirable by team YES

I tend to agree. I think most Scots are in fact Conservative with a small "c" .I think a lot who loudly pronounce a YES vote will in fact privately vote NO.
If it is a YES vote will there be a stampede South ?. As much as I despise the current Westminster mob the very thought of Salmond being elevated to such senior standing in a Country of such significant History just baffles me.
