And for the chap who lived in golders green and saw no issues.... ok.... really? It is not a huge problem by any means but it happens far more than perhaps you realise.
Yes really, for 10 years I haven't seen a single incident, if you exclude fight over last cheese bureka at Carmelis. Doubt that it was racially motivated. I firmly believe that some people have the need to be a victim. If someone gives them a strange look, by the time they retell the story, they were 'attacked by the angry mob'. I'm actually surprised that there isn't more of a backlash against community that threatens boycott of a newspaper because they had advert for humanitarian aid. Quite embarrassing really. league67 said:

you haven't seen it therefore it hasn't happened ? richie99 said:
I've never encountered a Jewish person who played the professional victim, perhaps because of the real persecution faced in the past. Wish I could say the same for the professional victim groups which seem to proliferate.
professional victims no,very sensitive ..yes,unsurprisingly.richie99 said:

I think all groups play the victim to some extent. To deny it for any particular, is to credit any particular group with special powers. I've just come back from Hong Kong which is a melting pot of cultures and it was amusing to witness every combination of inter-group insults on a daily basis, even if some of it was in humour. Example 1: Jewish businessmen haranguing the shuttle bus driver because he wouldn't stop at their hotel - to be fair one of the group told him to lay off driver because he was only doing his job. Example 2: Indian guy complaining about not being given special treatment in the Business Lounge of hotel. I actually stepped in because the scruffy tit was getting on my nerves (and I was hoping to get a discount on my bill). I often wonder why people are such c8nts on a daily basis, either on an individual or group basis!league67 said:

Golders does not have a huge issue as it is one of the centres of Jewish culture and population in the UK but if you honestly didn't see any issue in ten years I would suggest you were either walking about with your eyes closed or discounting situations that you decided should not upset people.
Who knows what was said by the security guard and what wasn't and certainly I'm not going to take anything away from this story as I'm a bit cynical of the press in the hysteria it likes to promote.
However, racial/religion prejudice and discrimination is sadly a lot more prevalent in our country than many people would like to think. This ranges from the casual "without thinking" racism to the more intentionally-malicious racism like this story purports to show. I don't think as Humans we'll ever quite completely get rid of it as deep down we're tribal by nature. Those that automatically say "victim card" aren't being completely fair IMO.

On this case, I pretty much know exactly what happened as I know several people who were there at the time, both Jews an non-Jews but to your main point.... you are sadly 100% correct. While having a sense of humour about difference is great (look at the Simpsons, Jackie Mason, Rob Ryden, Richard Prior etc) and very healthy there is often a fear and distrust of "the other" and while it is now largely socially unacceptable here it ebbs and flows. Being a Jew in Europe is a lot less easy than it was, equally so with those perceived to be Muslims (anyone a bit dark obviously!). The gay community have far fewer problems than they once did but it still happens, and far more than many people realise I suspect. However, racial/religion prejudice and discrimination is sadly a lot more prevalent in our country than many people would like to think. One hopes it will change in time but I fear that simply one group will replace another.

Until it is PROVEN to be inaccurate or false then I will assume the story is true based on factual events if thats ok with you. No doubt this one is also fictitious and completely made up? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2757112/Co...

If a 13 year old tells you they slept with your mother on xbox live (I am assured this is a common occurence), do you believe them until it's proven inaccurate?
No, you don't, because the source is untrustworthy.
Here.
There's a LOT of well-corroborated results.
Untrustworthy sources are not "untrustworthy sometimes". They're untrustworthy. Corroboration or the mail is, as they have been caught doing so many times before, simply making it up.

So with no uniform on it is impossible to distinguish between, say, a catholic and a Jew?
You could hazard a guess, based on stereotypical attributes, but a guess is all it is. David Baddeil looks Jewish, but he'd look exactly the same if his parents had converted to Islam before he was born and brought him up accordingly.Pappa Lurve said:

I don't know if those 'devices were out there by Jews trying to create an issue and gain sympathy' the same applies to bombs discovered in front of a nightclub in Central London. As for synagogues, I'm not religious so I don't pay much attention of their security arrangements. Quick google for 'explosives bin golders green' throws up

hardly Golders Green, and doubtful that it had Jews as targets. I do understand that, in your view, anyone who doesn't see relentless attacks on Jews, must be walking around with their eyes closed.
Do you feel threatened when you see bearded person with a rucksack?
