So if the result is a yes, when will Scottish MP's get booted out of Westminster?

Would be nice to see them get sacked and being escorted out with their possesions in a cardboard box.

It'll be after they help labour win the next election unfortunately.

Not that there'll be a yes win anyway.

if england allows it to wait that long

They might decide to kick you out before then as it would make things far easier for england as lets face it westminster only cares about england

We will probably be independent before christmas if you lot win

Assuming a yes vote, Scottish votes in the next general election will not apply to the UK, only Scotland.

All Scottish MPs will be required to leave Westminster at midnight on the day (or the day before) the general election.

Labour will probably try to hang on to them.

General election is before the actual day of independence, the Scots will need and deserve representation (although this whole issue is about a current lack of representation so perhaps it does not matter) within the UK up to that point. There should really be general elections held in both new countries on the day of Scottish independence, this would likely mean we will have two general elections in the space of two years.

If the Scots vote to leave then the issue of the settlement is going to dominate the next election; If the Tories are still fighting themselves and UKIP over Europe they are going to get a kicking at the polls for being fixated on the wrong issues again!

As mentioned already on the main thread, the Government can delay a general election (although the would probably only do this with the support of the opposition).

Thought there was going to be a delay in the general election until after the vote, after all why should those in Scotland vote in the general election the day before they vote to leave? If they leave their votes should not have counted at all unless the rest of the uk gets a vote in letting Scotland go?

Not that I don't think it will happen as I'm suspecting it to be no, but by a small margin...

That cannot be allowed to happen. There will have to be some constitutional changes in the event of a Yes vote.
