Has anyone watched this guy with the Scotland coverage ?
He is relatively new and it came as surprise to see how really poor he was today. Stumbling over words, unclear explanations and generally quite an amateurish presentation.

I have to agree - I heard him the other day and felt embarrassed for him as he was really poor. It does make you realise how difficult
the job is and how good/professional people like Nick Robinson are.

I really didn't know Adam Boulton had stopped being their correspondent. I saw this new guy and thought he may be a deputy or maybe one of the other correspondents filling in. Was really surprised when I caught him today stumbling. Essentially the anchors question was : " so when can we expect the results" - typical lightweight stuff. He was totally floundering with a lengthy rambling reply.
It was after that I noticed the advert they have done (on Sky news) re the political colours of the country changing and at the end he introduces himself as the political correspondent.
Then later on again he pops up and again he is badly floundering.

Has this 'guy' got a name? Why don't/won't you mention it?

Actually he was down to succeed Boulton back in March, taking over this month. Boulton carries on in the evening.

I saw this new 'guy' interview our dopey PM recently and he pulled no punches and looked relaxed. If he tripped over himself this evening it wouldn't be a first for a political commentator would it? He is quite young and we all have to start somewhere.

Strangely, he has all the credentials of what a typical PH'r posts is needed in this country - grammar school and uni education, he won an award for Young Financial Journalist of the Year, shortlisted Young Journalist of the Year at the British Press Awards 2001.
2006 named Young Journalist of the Year at the Royal Society of Television awards.
2007 was the winner of the year’s Broadcast News Journalism Award at the Workworld Media Awards.
2009 received the Wincott Foundation’s award for Best Television Coverage of a Topical Issue, for his work on the growing financial problems of the Icelandic Banks.
2009 he was awarded the Business Journalist of the Year, as well as the BJOYA award for "Best Broadcast Story" - again for his report on the Icelandic Banks.
2010 was named 'Broadcast News Reporter of the Year by the WorkWorld Foundation for 2009.

Do you want more?

I'll leave it to you to insert his name.

Is it Faisal Islam? He's all right. Used to be on Channel 4 news.

I used to like Peter Spencer, but he retired last year. Reminded me of Jason King or Adam Adamant.

Always pictured him with a cape and sword stick. laugh

Do you know I never new that anyone had replaced Adam Boulton before today. I always thought Boulton was the political correspondent and that there were some others who were deputies.
I know the BBC use the guy with glasses but that's about it.

Faisal Islam was very good on C4 news, I think being slick on a live broadcast and being a good journalist are frequently mutually exclusive. Andrew Neil is a notable exception. Sarah Smith, now with BBC Scotland but formerly of C4 news is a very good journalist as well, I didn't realise till very recently that the late John Smith was her father.

I think Andrew Neil is pretty much the top dog generally. His leisurely This Week Programme can be a bit self indulgent but its probably one of the better programmes I watch.
I can't say I am a big fan of Nick Robinson. I always liked Adam Boulton but thinking about it I just assumed he had been their (Skys) correspondent all along.
I think Channel 4 have a guy now who used to do specials at the BBC

They all move about between the various channels. It gets confusing - especially at my age.

Don't know about you lot but I'm developing a "thing" for Anushka Astana. She looked very relaxed on camera this morning.

His biggest problem is poor communication on live feeds. Seen him 3 times so far not good in any of them.
Mind you Sky News has gone downhill big time.
That awful Kay Burley woman, why they continue with her I cannot fathom.

Actually saw their deputy political correspondent this morning
To satisfy the fact I didn't list the other guys name I will add this one has a catchy name of Joey Jones.
He was much better in his live thing.
