Who came out of Scots Referendum with enhanced credit?
Discussion
Gordon Brown
Nicola Sturgeon (I know I know ) but I think she came across as a rounded figure and took away some of the fakery of Mr Salmond.
Sarah Smith: Came across as a total professional in her analysis and input in the coverage head and shoulders above most other pundits involved
BBC Parliament : Apart from NOT having Sarah Smith on it the channel was much better at covering the vote than the main BBC News channel

Brown.
Don't like his politics, but wish he had shown the same passion and conviction as PM.
Awesome speech and delivered perfectly.
The speech he delivered today was just as good. He seemingly spoke from the heart with no notes or auto-prompt. He cracked a few jokes and sounded like someone I would back!Don't like his politics, but wish he had shown the same passion and conviction as PM.
Awesome speech and delivered perfectly.
Massively surprised to say the least. I would vote for him.

A couple of well-delivered speeches and people forget the destruction this man and his cronies wrought with "...I'd vote for him..."
Incredible.

Alex Salmond; say what you like about him, he was Statesman-like right up there but for the expenses scandal.
Nicola Sturgeon was the standout for me;
.
Two liars and you think they were the standouts. The SNP hierarchy were/are a disgrace. Their running of Scots Govt committees is/would not have been out of place in the old Soviet Union. The fact that you and others voted them into a quasi Government just astound's me.Nicola Sturgeon was the standout for me;

I was about to comment that it's worrying that someone would be so 'easily swayed' to vote based on a couple of speeches - how short are memories of the reckless abandon with which Brown plundered pensions, removed tax breaks and spent (our and additional borrowed) money like water in order to attempt to bribe/fool people into thinking things were good?

Personally I'd never vote for him, but I admire a well delivered speech, regardless of the politics. A couple of well-delivered speeches and people forget the destruction this man and his cronies wrought with "...I'd vote for him..."

A lot of daft stuff on this thread, but you are the standout clown Keep it coming.
I presume you are a gullible Yes voter and your name reflects your slowness of mind. I make allowances for people who admit their handicaps, so you go on supporting the SNP idiots in Edinburgh; unfortunately the increased benefits they promised you, aren't going to materialise.Borghetto said:

Not much to larf about, pal, but plenty to larf at. Keep it coming
I'm not your pal either mush and I suggest if you're short of a larf, take a peek at yourself in the mirror.Funk said:

Well as we are still part of the UK, I have to say who came out best? UKIP.
just watch what happens in Scotland now.
UKIP needs to learn the lessons of the Scottish referendum. They need a much more detailed exit plan. Maybe its already there in embryo, from that competition winner, but more will be needed.just watch what happens in Scotland now.

Salmond and Farage IMO.
Salmond went into a yes/no referendum and ended up with a yes/partially yes referendum. The waters have been muddied enough that I don't think it was a complete failure for him, but knowing when to exit gracefully also gives him gravitas out of a negative result.
Farage has been consistent and forthright, he highlighted the danger of the three party fudge and the unfairness to the English.
