Export something = money coming into the UK

Importing something = money going out of the UK

Spending money you don't have = bad

TWO coal fired power stations in the UK = good.

850,000 coal fired power stations in China = bad.

and so on.. some of this is not rocket science but why do most people base important life changing decisions around emotions rather than simple logic.

...and if humans cease to exist, do you think Mathematics - and the associated oily-finger-nailed discipline we term Physics - would also cease to exist as measures of cause and effect?

If a tree falls in the woods does it make a sound if there is no one around to hear it?

If the fall is cushioned by a Catholic Pontiff bear doing a Number Two in those woods (or a duck pond full of monopedal ducks), possibly not.

Of course.

At the limit, however, when it is very dark here, it is very, very warm in Australia, giving rise to spiders the size of dustbin lids, food that tastes like dustbin lids, and odd whining speech inflections - Dustbin Lids?

New Zealand, on the other hand, in my experience is quite rainy, generally jolly, and refreshingly spider-free when it's dark here.

I'm very much of the opinion that there is no objective material reality outside the perceptions of human consciousness, so I say no.

To the guy who wrote the OP, maths and logic are quite different.

Out of the five points you've made, two are facts ( in and out) and three are subjective based on emotions ( bad or good).
How do you feel about that? wink

Re importing equalling money going out of the UK. Longer term, an imported asset can generate income within the UK which exceeds the cost to buy and import.

But if there's no one there to see it fall over, has it really fallen over....wobble

No. It remained in the same place. The rest of the forest changed position around it.

There is clear evidence of it having fallen over, I.e it was up right and now it's on the ground, there is no epistemological challenge to that, of course if no one has witnessed it either upright or on the ground the whole existence of the tree is questionable and it is a fact that imaginary trees don't fall over or make sounds.

What do you base logic on, do you have any examples that are nothing to do with maths?
