I listened to the first hour.
I have no axe to grind.
I have voted for both main parties in the past.
I just heard the usual vague Labour rhetoric told with little passion.
Did not hear him address the "real" concerns of the " man in the street".

Which 'man in the street' is this? The northerner, southerner, immigrant, woman, ...?

Are you serious ?
There are two streets, one in which politicians and luvvies live in,the other one is where "the man" lives and wonders when/if those politicians have any will/ power to solve the problems that many of them have presided over.

I listened to him on the radio before Obama came on.

Red Ed is just too much of a nice guy and doesn't have the certain something politicians need when making grand speeches. Sadly for him his voice impediment doesn't help and even a really serious speech sounds weak.

He would have done much better to lay off slagging the opposition and sticking to solid quantifiable improvements he and his party intend to make if we're stupid enough to vote them into power again.

Overall, weak, insipid and dull speech. Kudos for carrying the whole thing from memory but Labour really do need to get his brother/someone more charismatic to lead their party. Without that and with the usual suspects behind them (Balls, Harman, etc...) theres no way I'd even consider voting for them.

Regardless of the delivery, it was complete claptrap. Andy Burham just got a good roasting by Eddie Mair on R4 about the NHS funding stuff and 'mansion' tax. If you like hearing politicians flustered and angry, it's worth a listen.

No mention of immigration or deficit... Channel 4 news says he was speaking without notes, and forgot!

I think there was a bit if auto cue going on I'm afraid.

You can normally tell as there us one at (eg) 2 O'clock and one at 10o'clock. He flips from one to the other and never loiters for too long outside that arc or those points. There is often one dead centre as well to give more flexibility.

Ps - they are often hung under the front of the dress circle IYSWIM. Well out of most peoples' sight..... smile

Pps - either way the man is simply awful and needs to get a good kicking at the GE smile

I stopped listening to Miliband after this interview. An 80 min speech would kill me.

I voted No in the referendum but fk me, if this this is what's left to fight the Tories, UKIP & the SNP then the UK's dead already.

They have just been discussing his speech on breakfast TV and say he didn't have an auto cue but did forget loads smile

And having just watched this link, bloody hell.... He is a total dork! It's as if he is an Action Man toy and someone just pulls the string and the same sh*t keeps coming out!

How the hell is this man possibly the next PM?

God help us frown

Oh I don't know. Worked for Alex Salmond.

Has there been a demo outside the BBC in London yet about harsh treatment of Miliband by the media? The Labour party really ought to learn from more successful political parties if it hopes to win the next general election.

TV Gold. What a total fking dead head. He doesn't even look embarrassed to be repeating himself.

The worrying thing about all this is, despite 'forgetting' (did he fook) to talk about immigration and the economy, Labour are still high in the polls!

I can only imagine the people saying 'Labour' to the pollsters have exactly the same mind set as those who said 'Yes' in the Scottish referendum, ie, have very short memories and are financially thick as st.

Telegaph: Miliband - I forgot parts of my speech

So, as regards Labour's economic policy homework, Miliband's response can be described as "Errrr....the cat ate it. I left it on the bus. Big boys stole it and ran away"

Of all his flaws, this is my biggest issue with him. It seems 90% of the understandable st he spouts just seems to be slagging off the Tories.

The only policies I seem to hear about are all about taxing the rich to the hills. Sadly means the ever growing scum bag population who feel they deserve something for nothing will always vote them in and the successful will eventually be sick of these taxes and just jump ship.
