Having just heard this on the radio I couldn't help but feel a little saddened;

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-29400...

She was a bit of a crush of mine as a teenage lad as I'm sure she was for many others. I sympathise and fully understand her reasons for doing so as having seen the strain my wife has been under for the last few months with her battle with cancer.

It's a brave move by anyone whatever their profile and I hope she gets the last Christmas with her family she wishes for.

So sorry for her. Yes, big 'milfy' crush on her years ago too.

Read it in the paper this morning.

Like others have said, sad news and definitely a former crush.

Sad to hear this news but she is a very brave lady.

I still preferred Carol Drinkwater in "All Creatures Great and Small" though.

I corrected my post. Helen is an artist. Carol is the actress.

Although she was well known for the Oxo ads, she most certainly wasn't the "original" Oxo lady.

Oxo had a theme running in their ads from the 1960s which are referred to as "Katie in the Kitchen".

Lynda Bellingham assumed the role in the 1980s.

I'll let you all know tomorrow evening, meeting with the Doc.

Not bothered either way.
