Brilliant?. It was amusing. But it was equally divisive and insulting. London, London, London. Guess what. A substantial proportion of the population don't live in London. If the Tories want the 'Milliband' effect, they should elect him as leader.

He isn't campaigning for mayor of London. He was giving reasons why the country should vote Tory ( and why he should be the next leader).

Great entertainment, but which overshadows the fact it contains almost no substance.

As opposed to all the other speeches we've heard over the last number of weeks?

I thought having attended Eaton and Oxford he might be able to come up with some proper arguments aginst UKIP rather than the gutter language insults he managed.

No class what so ever just contempt for his fellow man.

Bang on. His insults directed towards Scotland and how the should be thankful for (you guessed it) London, is hardly likely to endear him to our Scottish friends.

How many of them are likely to vote tory, even if hell freezes over? Why waste the effort?

About 1 in 5 (based on the 2010 election results).

Quite right the Tory party conference no longer has any real Tories there it's just pr, lobbyists, journos and the next batch of wannabe career MPs fresh out of Oxbridge. Everyone else has joined UKIP as they are now finding with difficulties getting local activists on the ground so they have to bus these students everywhere.

But if they can't win seats then it doesn't matter.
In fact are there any marginals in Scotland where the Tories are in with a chance?

I'm glad someone else noticed this. I quite like Boris and I'm certainly not anti-London but his constant references to the capital were bloody offputting. Unpopular to say so on here I know, but there is a whole country out beyond the borders of the M25 - haven't any of them learned from recent events in Scotland?

His jibe that would-be defectors to UKIP were people who might inflict barely credible injuries on themselves by vacuum cleaner abuse, shows he is exactly as above.

Leader? God help.
