ps just to remind you guys, he's been in since 2010 and all he's done is cut Child benefit for some medium/high earners (sending the excess to Eastern European kids) oh and and let me think, oh yes, gay marriage is now legal. Now he promises gold!
There are obviously no guarantees, but remember that he's not in power on his own. And I think the watered down austerity measures are in no small part down to the Lib Dems.ps just to remind you guys, he's been in since 2010 and all he's done is cut Child benefit for some medium/high earners (sending the excess to Eastern European kids) oh and and let me think, oh yes, gay marriage is now legal. What I'd like to see of all parties is proper commitment to their policies and manifestos with dates and consequences for not making them.
The one thing he cannot and must not do should he get in is blame Labour any more. That ship, whilst justified for the last 5yrs IMO, has now sailed.
Personally I think they've made a reasonable fist of the economy and he's right to focus on it. They haven't cut far enough IMO. But maybe another term would see that happening.
Can't see them getting voted in though.

The only thing is Labour still blame the Torys for the 15% interest rates - yet totally forget they caused the UK to need an IMF loan in the 70's as they had bankrupt the country.... Then. They did it again when they came back to power Once is bad luck twice is careless three times you don't even get the chance to try to failWhat I'd like to see of all parties is proper commitment to their policies and manifestos with dates and consequences for not making them.

It was a good, but not vintage, speech.
Some soundbites and jokes were a bit laboured.
Dave screwed up the General Election 2010 (shoulda been a landslide), screwed up the Scottish Referendum 2014 (shoulda been an even bigger landslide), bottled an EU Referendum, and will prolly screw up the General Election 2015 (hung parliament or coalition likely). Surprised he still has supporters, tbh.
Sam Cam did look kinda milfy, though.

What he has not done -and desperately needs to do - is to connect to the conservative blue collar vote. He needs to show that he can respond to their concerns around their jobs, their incomes, their hopes for their children and that he can give them a better quality of life than Labour.

Massive fail on that front and i won't hold my breath.
Only once (ever in four years) have i heard a bit of real emotion when he spoke about his son. And although i really hate him and what he stands for i understand that.
Other than that all i ever hear is some minted up silver spooned fkwit, born into privilage, who thinks it is his 'god given' right to be PM. Someone who has never had to actually work for a living. The man is an utter .

I'd not trust that to post a letter without opening it, stealing anything inside, subcontracting the delivery to a fkwit mate, sending it to the wrong place then charging me extra for my own good.
He can fk off. Then when he gets back, he can fk off again, taking that other fking fool that forgets his speeches with him.
WE ARE WHAT WE DO.
I found that more impassioned, succinct & sincere than either Cameron's or Milliband's speeches. He can fk off. Then when he gets back, he can fk off again, taking that other fking fool that forgets his speeches with him.

A good speech, well delivered with humour & passion.
The line 'Go to bed with Farage, wake up with Miliband' will be oft repeated in the coming months.
Funny but true, the British public aren't stupid & will act accordingly when the crunch comes..
Maybe not the best speech ever, but not one of the worst ever as 'delivered' by Miliband last week..

O/T, but he probably works longer hours and harder than 95% or more of people on PH, so he may not actually *have* to work for a living, but he does work hard (as have all our PMs, it's not that DC is necessarily harder working than his predecessors) . There are *much* easier and less stressful ways of earning £140k a year (or more importantly, the £84k it gets you after tax) with a much better quality of personal life. You couldn't tempt me slightly with the PM's job for £140k a year, let alone £67k for a boggo MP's job. smn159 said:

Caught a bit of it on the news, but sounded like tax cuts maybe in a few years for the better off, provided that all sorts of improbable things happen?
Tax free threshold increased to £12.5k that's helping everyone especially the lowest paid as that makes the biggest difference to them. Min wage working 30hours a week no tax to pay that is superb taking a further 1million people out of tax altogether

Cameron said inequality rose under Labour, and is falling under the Tories. What's the chat there, anybody got the figures?
Labour will have one set of stats Torys another - just like SNP pro Yes v Pro No all the experts and legal advice sought both sides essentially get to a draw on if killingjoker said:

The guy is well educated and has inherited a bob or two. Explain to me why that makes him a bad person or a bad Prime Minister?
(oh and don't say "he hasn't even had a proper career outside politics!" Because, with the exception of John Major and *possibly* Margaret Thatcher, no Prime Minister since Asquith has had a proper career outside politics)

Clapham? PH is heaving with top-down class warrior sentiments. See underclass, scum, scroungers and most posters banging on about class warriors.
