I cannot believe that Hitchens didn't like it. Astonishing!Yes I know he has the same disdain for Labour, particularly Blair (you won't find much love for him in the labour party either).
Nice to see a writer with a bit of passion & style though.
But who then brought in a policy of the presumption being in favour of development and the developers with the right of appeal over the heads of local council decisions even in the case of green belt land.In addition to pushing HS2 through the Conservative heartlands in the Chilterns and the expansion of Gatwick etc etc etc. Then he's got the nerve to think that he can count on keeping a guaranteed vote here.
Hopefully him and his Cons are toast and David Davis will see sense by bringing him down in an alliance with UKIP which is probably the least worse choice between that or more of the same LabLibdemCon alliance.

I remember saying the day the coalition was announced that the party line would be 'If it goes right the Tories will claim the credit, if it goes wrong they'll blame the lib dems'.... glad to see ot's still being spouted.
Politicians in claiming credit and deflecting blame shocker? Its a shame Cameron & co. cannot call a snap election now
Labour's Miliband & Balls are a comedy double act. No policies & the wider public opinion now see's them as the party that destroyed the economy.
Lib Dems are finished. Single figures in the polls but still they slag off the rest & claim to be an alternative. Will be good to see them wiped out next time around.
Conservatives are on a roll/ Professional act, seen as sorting out labour's mess. I reckon they'd walk it.
Roll on next year!

Hopefully the approaching by elections will show the reality of just how out of touch the Cons are in thinking that UKIP won't throw a spanner in Cameron's Con Party machine. It seems their principal policy is that football teams should not play to win.
Good analogy. Clegg is resigned to a hung parliament and expects the Liberals will be king makers. He seems to ignore UKIP.I'd put my money on Tories & the 'fruitcakes" working together, or even a minority Tory government.
A snap election now, as someone has suggested.

Best thread in ages!
It never takes long for the socialist spite and envy to surface.
It's a PH meme, "envy", but doesn't really have much currency inside the labour party whatever you might think.
Anyway bar the odd poll, it's still looking pretty grim for Dave and his boys. Ashcroft isn't very hopeful, which is a very good sign.

Politicians in claiming credit and deflecting blame shocker? That's not a speech. Watch from 10:30 on...

Not political, not loud or brash, but perfectly measured and delivered.

That would take the removal of Cameron and putting in someone like David Davis as Conservative leader.Unfortunately for the country Cameron and his Cons seem to prefer the idea of allowing the Labour Party in than stepping down and allowing that to happen.
No, that is the preference of UKIP supporters.David Davis lost the Conservative leadership election a long time ago. He is yesterday's man.
Has CaMoreOn confirmed he pays the full 45% allowance across the board yet?
And did he explain his thinking behind not being able to offset first year losses when starting a business, and what he supposed the result would be economically?
I've read a lot of his posts, but I couldn't finish - he's just so angry (and misinformed).
