Might hit two in a month or so.

My 2015GE prediction stays as it is.

Run along.

The figures look very promising for UKIP, but the issues with getting the DNV (did not vote) last time supporters out, as FiF mentioned would temper my enthusiasm.... until I remember that whilst the conservatives are keen to get rid of who they consider a deceitful unpleasant reckless chap - this is the best they can find to replace him with biggrin

laugh who selected this thicko? She can't even read a script let alone have any conviction.
I can't substantiate my feeling that if a UKIP representative interviewed so badly or suggested someone moving from outside their county couldn't access services for 5 years (Winston McKenzie springs to mind...) but I'm convinced it would have been a big story, let alone the candidate for what should be a conservative safe seat!

What was that prediction, out of interest?

3-6 seats, at the outside 10 perhaps.

Of course things may happen which could affect that up or down. As things stand be very surprised if it gets higher.

However the number of seats where they affect the result and come a good second will be higher but can't really put a number on that, 50/70 maybe but pure guesswork at this stage

Just seen Guam's response and seems we are on a similar page.

It's a good point he makes about getting the DNVs out. If they adopt the Labour strategy of locking in those last time DNVs with assisting them with the postal ballot potentially a game changer. All bets off at that stage.

Labourite fantasising about getting 40% of the vote. Right your 35% strategy is in tatters and support dropping.

Contains some interesting numbers to back up what some of us have been saying about votes going in all directions.

Indeed. A thought about the kinds of arguments leveled against UKIP in the linked article... idiots, serious racists, sexist, homophobic, liken UKIP to Nazis.

Why is it then that the only real reason I resist putting a UKIP sign in my front garden come election time (or the "I'm voting UKIP" poster that came through my door in the recent EU elections) is that I fear that a brick may end up in my living room. I don't think this feeling is shared by people displaying their support for Lib/Lab/Con/Green. frown

The fear of a brick through the window is exactly why I do not display my UKIP voting intentions. very sad.

Yes indeed very sad.

Some very reticent folk might not even go so far as to declare their voting intentions to pollsters given the amount of bile directed at kippers.

the media are doing there very best to portray UKIP voters as right wing looney's ,racists and fascist .They are doing a great job as they are driving people towards UKIP.
Interesting watching the news this morning about the Mid Term Elections in the USA.
The people they interviewed had the same opinion about politicians that many of us have and it wasn't a very high opinion.
Could we be seeing an end to career politicians?. We can live in hope

Here's a thought. If the Kippers on this thread (and lets be fair, they are the majority), get their way, it will be the first time since WWII that a party or coalition has been voted out, who left unemployment lower than when they came to power.

Ignoring the party politics, that is a fairly shocking fact

That would imply unemployment has never fallen before?

The other problem is statistics, statistics, and statistics...

Well, the fact that they are a majority shouldn't come as a surprise.

After all, they did get 51% of the vote in the Clacton by-election.

This thread simply reflects public opinion.

There are many people who still believe that a vote for UKIP is wasted.

The situation may have changed by May 7th next year.

FiF, and others, are betting that UKIP will get 6 to 10 seats. I am much more optimistic. I think that UKIP will get at least 30 seats.

Why do you think they will be voted out?? Lib dums are toast stick a fork in em there done and the jockanese well looks like they are voting for sticklebacks SNP no one seems to have a good word for labour this side of the border either so will milliband beat CMD's blue labour ?? Maybe Ukip will take labour and Tory seats and it will average out ?? Hopefully they will hold the balance of power and we will once again have a proper conservative government..

Maybe it is entrepreneurs in the private sector that have sorted this out, and maybe its nothing to do with any political group wishing to make it somehow their own claim to victory.

Just another thought..
