Ukip's charismatic beer-swigging leader, Nigel Farage, has been named 'Briton of the Year' by The Times after an unforgettable 12 months that saw his party emerge as a mainstream political force.

Seems ok to me. We'd have bugger all influence if we left the EU, even the Yanks would drop us.

Stopping the money outflow and incomer free for all would be fine for me , so lets tell the EU we longer wish to subsidise their lifestyle then.

Be assured NicD, you are far from alone with regarding our unfairly balanced EU membership in that way. Very far from alone. I along with millions of others, did not vote for this back in the mid-1970s.

.... and Gaspode, our EU money should both talk and shout!

We currently have bugger all EU influence anyway. Even our disproportionate and ever increasing money input to the EU is clearly voiceless proof of that.

Good article from Nigel in yesterdays Independent regarding the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta - http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/magna-...

Strange how we now find ourselves on the fringe of a political union while been dictated too by some nations who haven't even managed 70 years of democracy.

and it makes sense for some of them to band together to avoid being invaded again but I don't see the benefit for the UK (or at least, England.)

A list of the things you 'don't have' would take all day.

What is it YOU believe in?

Very boring to see you sad sacks attempt personal attacks rather than telling us what you stand for.
I stand for a United Europe with Great Britain at its heart!

'As first reported by Forbes, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) dropped a bomb in its October Fiscal Monitor Report. The report paints a dire picture for high-debt nations that fail to aggressively “mobilize domestic revenue,” which is code for “aggressively tax its citizens.” '

There is no way the billionaires are going to stand for this

Douglas Carswell asking Ukip members to be less racist...

Are UKIP becoming a bit too PC?

Dirty tricks again.

The headline states this but it is not a quote and not supported by the article.
The closest is this:
'Clacton MP Mr Carswell is the first senior Ukip politician to admit, in effect, that some of the party’s members are racist.'

very poor ststirring by the Mail.

Interesting link.

The reason for my earlier post was because I think it follows the same pattern as most other parties - trying to broaden their voter base by being as inclusive as possible, resulting in diluting their policies and disillusioning the fringe.
