But that isn't to say that it is all clear. As far as I can see there are 3 possibilities:
1) Bashir discovers their is an investigation into him and defects before it can conclude
2) UKIP discover Bashir is about to defect and quickly smear him
3) UKIP discover Bashir is about to defect and release some evidence from a while ago that they had been sitting on
To determine which, the first question is what are the allegations against Bashir?
Is it related to the illegal immigrants at the restaurant? if so then that is a while ago so why is the evidence only coming out now?
Is it related to this entryism ttrying to rig a vote that Steve350C linked to? If so, Bashirs only connection seems to be that he employs one of the people. So he wouldn't be committing an offence.
Is it unspecified expenses irregularities relating to his MEP role?
Steve350s link opens up an even bigger can of fish that may or may not be linked to Bashir.
Were Labour coordinating the rigging? That is a hugely significant accusation. If true immensely embarrassing for Labour, if false could the UKIP people on those e-mails be guilty of libelling Labour? Can you libel a political party?
Why did the UKIP officials let Bhutto do this when I believe he was expelled some time ago and they evidently recognised him. There is a suggestion they were told to. Why?
