A statement on UKIP’s website says: “Mr Bashir has been informed of the specifics of the investigations which include unanswered financial and employment questions, interference with UKIP candidate selection processes and a continued affiliation with Mujeeb Bhutto, despite the party’s protests against Mr Bhutto’s involvement with Mr Bashir or UKIP.”
Mujeeb Bhutto is a former UKIP activist who was revealed to be the former leader of a Pakistani kidnapping gang.
Conservatives are welcome to him.

For example the employment issue presumably relates to his restauant. They've had 6 months to investigate that. Whereas the candidate selction process was this week, so they've investigated that quickly - though failed to notice that Bashir isn't actually mentioned in the e-mails.
And the Bhutto thing goes back a year.
Yet they all come to a head this week. Amazing coincidence

Just redressing the bias shown by the repeated bias of a few Kippers in repeating the UKIP position which does seem to have more than a few holes, and getting more since that is the first time they have said he was expelled for all of those things. UKIP and Farage are not showing any interest in filling those holes so I am getting more suspicious. I cant keep up.
And Jogon. the only info on this I have comes from the BBC, google and what has been posted here (noticeably by Steve350s link to those e-mails which are incredibly interesting).

But this isn't true. It was not at the same time was it.
I don't have any extra inside information on the circumstances, however, a couple of points that suggest ukip may be telling the truth and one that's negative.
Conservatives and BBC both reporting that this was pre planned defection, however Bashirs Cameron bashing tweets (posted as little as two days ago now) were only being deleted in the early hours of this morning as UKIP started retweeting them. Seems to suggest this wasn't a coordinated effort. Secondly Bashirs interview with BBC5live got cancelled by Conservative Central Office this morning. If they were absolutely thrilled and not opportunistic yesterday they should be milking it for all its worth.
The extra information about the accusations from UKIPS is quite negative for me because it suggests that they are terrified of calling out a bad candidate from an ethnic minority... we've had this before with Winston and the lady candidate who made false claims about sexual harassment. Ukip need to be honest and make equality count, this reinforces the need for them to ensure that positive discrimination doesn't embaress them.
