NicD,
why keep talking about the irrelevant issue of you and TKF. Thats just a trivial side issue

The issues are first of all UKIPs behaviour around Bashir, followed by Jogon saying he would never vote for a Muslim politician, and wc98 defending him.
hey, when someone questions anything you post, you fill pages with rebuttal.
But it was my last word on that.

re Bashir, there are no more facts than yesterday, so cant say anything more.
Re jogon, he has a right to vote how he wants. Who are you to argue with that?

I have made my points quite clear over on the Islamisation and the West topic I do not believe in moderate Islam. I have no problem voting for black people or anyone else as long as they represent similar values to myself. I do not believe we share any common values with Islam. They make up 5% of the population but seem to wield a far greater representation in UK politics and I don't like it.

I'm just trying to establish jogon's voting rules. He's willing to exclude people based solely on their religion (because all 1.8Bn look the same to him) and willing to ignore their politics for his prejudice. I was wondering whether he'd do the same for race.
Why is he not allowed a personal preference? why can he only vote for people that you have pre-approved?

But it wasn't rebuttal, just repeating the same thing.

FWIW I don't think you intended any racial slur

Jogon and wc98 can vote for whom they want. Their rationale is still racist though

OK, back on topic

From this article on Mr Bashar (so not my words) but it does seem, good riddance :
http://www.asianimage.co.uk/news/11748189.Amjad_Ba...Ukip_hasoutlived_its_usefulness_/

'Prime Minister David Cameron said he was "absolutely delighted" at the Yorkshire and Humber MEP's decision, news of which emerged shortly after Ukip announced it had suspended Mr Bashir on suspicion of "grave" impropriety.
....
The MEP said he met Mr Cameron yesterday and applied to join the Tories.
Mr Bashir had been told he was facing investigations over allegations including interference with Ukip candidate selection processes
,,,
But Mr Bashir said Ukip's reaction when the party found out he intended to defect "sums up what is wrong with them".

"They made a crude attempt to smear me with false allegations of irregularities in the recruitment of Asian members in Bradford," he said
"There is not a shred of truth in any of the claims but it has made me more convinced than ever that I made the right decision."

Writing in the Mail on Sunday Mr Bashir said he had "experienced racism in Ukip" and claimed the party had "outlived its usefulness" because the Tories had promised a referendum on membership of the European Union.

He claimed Mr Farage "runs the party like a dictator" and "gets rid of anybody who stands in his way".

He said: "I have decided to leave Ukip because it has become a vanity project for Nigel Farage and because many of the criticisms made of the party are true. David Cameron famously said that Ukip was a party of 'fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists'.

"Certainly, I have experienced racism in Ukip. I have been racially abused on social media by other Ukip members who ask offensive questions like: 'Are you a Muslim?'

"I was angry when I was the only Ukip politician who was cut out of a video of speeches at a party event. I complained that it was because of my ethnic minority background, but was fobbed off."

He hit out at the "appalling" and "childish" antics of Ukip MEPs in the European Parliament, and condemned Mr Farage's remarks in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo terror attacks in Paris.

"I was outraged when I heard Mr Farage talk of a 'fifth column' of immigrants in Britain," he said.'

He quite rightly said this when other politicians were too scared to speak:

Mr Farage, leader of the anti-EU UK Independence Party, said mass immigration had "made it frankly impossible for many new communities to integrate".

"We do have, I'm afraid, I'm sad to say, a fifth column that is living within our own countries, that is utterly opposed to our values," he said.

and then the so called muslim community leaders pretend to be offended.

Muslim community. Sounds very "integrated" to me.
The whole integration argument is nonsense.
If integration was such a success thered be no "communities" where majorities were one race/faith etc.

Islam simply isnt compatible with a free society imho.

yes This country has played host to people who, despite being raised here, hate its values and what it stands for.

You're opinion is worthless then. If you base it on the actions of a tiny percentage of society. Of course this is ukip-land though where bigotry runs free.

Except that as I have now had to point out 3 times, he announced his defection in an interview to the BBC before he was suspended.

Amazing what a biased view does to the facts. And I seem to recall Kippers saying it was OK to change your views. As long it it was to become a Kipper I guess,

As I have said, he may or may not have decided to leave because he knew he was being investigated, but he certainly decided to leave before he was suspended, and UKIP have a lot of questions to answer as to why they are making all these accusations now and not in October or last January, or in what way he is linked to this alleged election rigging (which IMO is the most serious of the lot, and I wish all parties would crack down on democratic abuses whatever the faith or skin colour of the perpetrator, because there has been too much in recent years from several sources

Instead of telling us, please tell the BBC:

'Amjad Bashir was suspended by UKIP over various allegations - all of which he denies - shortly before announcing his defection on Saturday.'
