Got a source on this?
Sorry meant to link before - http://www.breitbart.com/london/2015/01/29/bristol...One source states a convention that a group of more than 12 people cannot be libelled (as a group I would imagine, 12 named individuals could sue seperately). A person who is a member of a political party could claim that they had been defamed by association, but this is a) a bit tenuous and b) an admission that they are now embarrassed to be a member.

I always have a chuckle at this one, "My God isn't that awful?",

Hardly UKIPs fault is it, if people decide to vote for them as they feel that they (UKIP) now represent their views more closely than any other mainstream party? Tory support has flocked towards UKIP, as I mentioned earlier. Their support is up from 3.1% at the 2010 election to around 15% now, they aren't all new voters, that is for sure, and Tory support looks to be down compared to the 2010 GE, where have these once Tory voters gone?
Well, many have gone to UKIP, and in response to this we have had scorn and rumours abound of comments about swivel eyed loons, and our estimable Tory Mayor of London, arguably the greatest City on Earth, suggesting UKIP defectors (many who are ex Tory supporters) are the sort of people who have sex with their vacuum cleaners.
Are you suggesting that people abandon their conviction and vote Tory to keep such a coalition out, despite feeling their views are no longer espoused by the Conservative party? I'm not able to call into account your conviction or willingness to stand up for what you believe - you're a smart man and obviously have conviction, but so do many others - and they feel their views are best represented elsewhere... Just like one of their own MPs, Peter Bone, who said the current Tory party has spent too much time and effort chasing the centre ground vote, thinking that the voters to the right of centre (many traditional Tory voters) would have no other choice but to vote Tory even if they held a more central position in the political spectrum as there was no alternative.
They were wrong.

I am not saying any of those things. If you choose to do that then it is a democracy. I merely believe people should be honest about it, not least to themselves.
Steve had posted "vote UKIP, get UKIP" whereas in fact is that in reality you might get the odd UKIP MP but hand power to Labour and the SNP.
Though in fact even that poll has to be considered in the light that it was a Survation poll and Survation consistently attribute more support to UKIP than any other pollster. Why that should be and whether they are correct and the others wrong or vice versa I have no idea. Just a consideration
