They are in good company then, as every party must be a minority party, the only difference between UKIP and the other parties is their support has grown by 11% over the course of this parliament,
Is that an increase from 5& to 5.5% or from 5% to 16%? No clue if UKIP support was 5% in 2010 or higher or lower but interested in what "11%" actually means.

I'm still largely unconvinced by UKIP but I'm actively turned off by Labour and the LibDems. Sadly there are enough things that the Tories come out with (particularly regarding the privilege accorded to religion) that make me disillusioned with them too.

Meh.

It was slated that Farage and Paxman would have an interview after this but apparently it's fallen through. It's day 101 that worries me...

Meh indeed with bells on!

There you have nailed the conundrum. The old established parties are all known quantities whereas UKIP are unknown. The chances are slight, but, just possibly their unknown qualities are just right to sort out the problems of decline.

No doubt the numerous hard core supporters of the established parties will try to counter with opposing views and that their party has all the answers.

PSSSSST. Got news for those hard core "I always vote *******" types.

None of them have the answers. The long term harm current and previous showers entrusted with the Nation's well being have failed miserably.

As you sew, so shall .......

I can see the thread will run hot with this:

'Voting for Ukip is about a 'state of mind', not policies, Nigel Farage will say today.
In his first major election event, the Ukip leader will use a speech in Essex to pledge to fight a 'positive' campaign that highlights the party's values and beliefs.'

and this shows the stupidity of the current government (from a pro government paper):

'Migration control 'is hampered by meagre funding and BBC bias': New report claims foreign aid budget SIX times greater than money available to secure British borders
Government spends £1.8 billion a year in security British borders
Britain spends an estimated £12 billion on foreign aid - six times more '

BBC controls immigration policy. Hmmm... does Sky News control government Defence spending? Better tell Dave.
Daily Mail really has sunk to a new low in attempts to smear the Beeb. Sounds like more nonsense to re-affirm beliefs of the easily led to me.
Anyway, they failed to mention how this news will affect house prices in Hertfordshire & no quote from Kate Middleton on the matter. Standards are slipping.

Seeing as the only argument presented against this is the tired old anti Mail stuff, perhaps referring to the Telegraph may help, or the original source at Migration watch itself.

Telegraph BBC bias hinders immigration crackdown

You know zygalski your credibility disappeared a long time ago, this confirms you are just an unpleasant little troll intent on causing mischief.

If you'd argued that Migration watch isn't perfect and can sometimes interpret data, shall we say, in an interesting fashion. Sometimes they are right, sometimes they aren't, sometimes they have a different handle on things that may or may not be to the agreement of the individual, then your input may have led to something worthwhile.

But as usual you spit out such thought, so shallow that even a speck of dust wouldn't float in your phlegm.

As it happens, on the question of funding for border control, or underfunding, then in this case they, Migration watch are correct, and in their report manage to praise many actions of the Coalition. Some of their points may be questionable, would need a further check but in essence they're right.

But it's all designed to push Mail readers buttons apparently. Whatever, carry on with that pirate patch on one eye. Harrrr!

What is your point in posting a poor quality photo of a small part of an area UKIP target?

He hasn't got any point. After complaining that he'd found my comments hurtful , comments from someone who won't be voting UKIP btw, the retort would be all he has to do is raise his game.

But then he posts that picture, which suggests that either he can't or doesn't wish to raise his game.

My point is proven.

Cameron needs to have renegotiation on the table from the EU so he can sell us the Yes vote, on the basis that we shouldn't judge the EU on our past relationship but on our future, renegotiated one. The problem with that is, the EU won't agree to it. We seen in the news today they aren't for offering anything in the immediate future.

I'd prefer us to stay in the EU, though I think the country should have a vote and if it's to leave we should respect that.

If I were Cameron I'd be offering a referendum in the autumn and looking forward to an election win in May.
