Who'd a thunk it, one person who wants to end the UK being called by the name of another that wants to end the UK.

It's the way they deal with these things which make them worse.

The excuse below is ridiculous and Arthur must be a moron to even try and sell it. UKIP's MEP didn't get Humza's name wrong because by his own admission he said the correct name first. He simply changed the name because he thought it was funny.

bbc said:
In a newspaper interview, David Coburn is alleged to have said: "Humza Yousaf, or as I call him, Abu Hamza".
It's pretty distasteful and a stupid thing to say in public. I don't think it's racist though.

bbc said:
However, UKIP's Scottish chairman, Arthur Misty Thackeray, denied a comparison with Abu Hamza had been made, and said his colleague had made a "slip of the tongue" and "got a name wrong".

He added: "He simply got a name wrong, which many people do on a daily basis.

"For example, I very often get referred to as Minty, which I believe is a character from EastEnders, but I don't take offence at that and run greeting to the papers about Mistyphobia."

To be fair Humza Yousaf is a tedious socialist throwback in the mould of George Galloway and like him leavened with an unhealthy dose of egocentrism. I met too many identical chippy Student Grant types at university, well endowed only in being gigantically self-regarding. I suspect Abu Hamza probably shares these character traits.

So he is over sensitive for being called a terrorist (which he isn't)

But to call someone a racist or fruitcake because they support UKIP (if they are not such) is totally unacceptable and they aren't being over-sensitive if they get upset.

Ok.

Ah wait, now I have read the UKIP policy on the matter I see it all makes sense:
UKIP supports the promotion of hypocrisy and will ensure a year on year increase in sanctimonious duplicity if elected

Sounds more like Labour tbh.

As a party, they won't be getting elected anyway, so we will have to settle for plain old Labour/Tory hypocrisy, or if we're really unlucky and a miracle happens, some Lib Dem hypocrisy too.

UKIP have pulled a bit of a blinder in Rochdale - our candidate is one Masu Mohammed. Great fun when lefties pull the racist card....

He's getting my vote.

and just for JAL:

Ofcom have announced their decision on party election broadcasts:

Ofcom said:
After carefully assessing consultation responses, evidence of electoral performance and trends in opinion polling data up to and including February 2015, Ofcom has added UKIP to the list in England and Wales for the May 2015 elections.

Based on the evidence, the Green Party (including the Scottish Green Party) and TUV have not been added to the list on this occasion.

As a result, those parties entitled to a minimum of two party election broadcasts are:

In Great Britain, the Conservative Party; the Labour Party; and the Liberal Democrats.

In Scotland, the Scottish National Party (SNP).

In Wales, Plaid Cymru.

In Northern Ireland, the Alliance Party; the Democratic Unionist Party; Sinn Féin; the Social Democratic and Labour Party; and the Ulster Unionist Party.

In England and Wales, UKIP.
so, no more bhing about UKIP not being a major party.

I wouldn't Scuffers. Just that decisions before now should have been based on the old list

Interesting comments from Trevor Philips today: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02m37ld

Am looking forward to watching his meeting with Farage. I understand the two of them got on very well.

If anyone wants to see how effective the European Arrest Warrant and Open Borders has been for our security have a look at the top 20 most wanted criminals - https://crimestoppers-uk.org/most-wanted/

For some reason their names are not on the main page you have to click on each one to reveal that but don't sound very traditional British names to me.

That would rather depend on if he actually has any clue and not simply a brown man to prove a point in the party and pushed to the front, like the last guy who turned out was a bit dodgy, defected and has been locked about in a Tory closet never to been seen again. Plus there is always the point about just 'buying' votes in demographic areas like this on skin colour alone. I hope Ukip have done the background checks that every national newspaper is now doing on this guy.

It seems we are the destination of choice for eastern europeans fleeing crimes they committed in their own country. Lovely more the merrier. frown

Interesting, also when you get to the second page where there are some English names, they list them in the title. scratchchin

I wouldn't b***ch now its official.

I only expressed the view that prior to this all decisions should have been based on the old list, no matter how much Kippers thought otherwise

If you read them carefully you will also find they are being sort for crimes committed outside the UK, normally their home country.

Read even more carefully and you will realise that Crimestoppers are specifically helping Operation SunFire, which is all about foreign criminals. So it is just a special focus:

crimestoppers said:
This is the fourth Operation Sunfire campaign we have supported in partnership with the Metropolitan Police

Led by the Metropolitan Police Service’s Extradition Unit, Operation Sunfire is on the hunt for some of the most high risk foreign national fugitives believed to be hiding in the UK, particularly in areas of London.
