The Worcester News have been enjoying this story round here. From the way they reported it I was of the "so he wanted a live-in bird at his beck and call for a few years then expected her to just go away when he was bored" opinion.

Reading the whole article and trusting the c of a. I would agree she is entitled to something. She gave up work and a flat effectivly she was acting as a wife for 12 years which enabled him to prosper in his work as he would have done so with a wife.

Do it at their house and leave before sunrise. It's the only way to be sure.

Why the eye roll? Do you disagree with something, but cannot find the words to describe how you feel?

Giving up work and letting him pay for everything including her child from a previous relationship.

My heart bleeds for her.

So they got together and he put a gun to her head and made her a stepford wife? Doubt it, I'd imagine she thought, I've got myself a cushy number here...

Yes that is exactly it. Well done, have a gold star smile

The decision is ridiculous, far too many people have a sense of entitlement, and bizarre events like this don't help.

Which usually goes along the lines of the typical type of women who are looking for 'financial security' in the form of someone with his own house and a good job etc etc being told by the potential mug that he can deliver.

Instead of him saying exactly the opposite to what the average gold digger is looking for during the first date.In the form of a rented house or living with parents and struggling on a zero hours contract or small pension from the early retirement/redundancy package. If she's still interested after that it is a reasonable bet that she'll be a good 'un.

'Divorcee Ms Blackburn left her rented property in Manchester and moved into the three-bedroom home - which was only in Mr Southwell's name - along with her two daughters, Katie and Sarah.'

Wonder why she divorced?
Just a thought.

Probably dumped by the husband who's now living with the single 20 year old who he told he had nothing to offer except a small council house and struggling to get by and she said fine.

Maybe she was/is mental? Doubtful, obviously, as not many of them are...

Nope. Quite ok. Rather than read the Wail, perhaps read the full judgement. Facts matter, not opinions. It took me 5 minutes to read it. Im quite good at reading smile he promised many things but ultimately wanted a squeeze without commitment.

So women want equality?

Stories like this are either very well picked to split a divide wider, or women really are using, ulterior motive driven animals.

That appears to be nothing more than a collection of "He said - She said" statements. No cash of hers (or risk) seems to have been put into the property.

That would be the obvious conclusion in the case of any woman who puts a condition of material wealth on wether she's prepared to enter into a relationship. In which case anyone who gets bitten by that only really has themselves to blame by not making it clear that they've got no financial benefits to offer from day 1.
