Jihadi John identified .... Or has he?
Discussion
CAGE is treated as a legitimate pressure group. I think they are currently being given enough rope to make fools of themselves. I'm sure some people will hear them complaining that the security services harassed the man thought to be "Jihadi John" and accept their narrative that this radicalised him - I think most people will hear it and think "and it turns out they were fking spot-on".

The problem isn't just giving groups like CAGE a platform, it is giving them an unopposed platform. They were allowed to set the agenda and narrative. All that was today was live propaganda.
As I said earlier unfathomable and disgusting. Had to laugh though, the usually utterly useless Kay Burley went up a notch in my estimation when she interviewed the little scrawny white Islam convert with his wispy beard. He pulled his earphone out and stomped off in a tantrum The Tw@t!Who the heck funds these CAGE lunatics? If there is any public funds going anywhere near these people , there needs to be investigation as to why and justified by who.
It beggars beleif that these people are alledgedly "Human rights" supporters, yet they are eulogising an Islamic nut job who celebrates and seemingly actually carries out cutting peoples heads off. I suppose those victims have no "human rights".
Headcases. (no pun intended)

Cage apologist: he was a lovely man.
Right up to the point he became a murderous .
Cage apologist: that was the fault of the 'so called' mi5 for harassing him.
After he tried to join al kebab in somalia
Cage apologist: its perfectly innocent. He was on safari.
So whats he doing with the islamic state
Cage apologist: hes being persecuted for being a muslim by islamaphobics
No, hes being persecuted because he's a terrorist...

Here's a short clip of the CAGE guy speaking a few years ago. Quite different to today's rehearsed performance isn't it.

Today's press conference is a well rehearsed attempt at trying to, quite miserably I'd say, protect themselves from the attention they knew would come their way once it was revealed that Jihadi John and CAGE were known to each other.

Their whole argument is that being stopped by the security agencies as a suspected jihadist "turned" Jihadi John into a jihadist. And to then suggest he was somehow marginalised - WTF.
A bit more than that happened though I do think its more than a stretch to claim one just led to the other. There was some interesting work done a few years ago about the impact that the actions of prison officers can have on the radicalisation of Muslim prisoners. I left thinking that 'state' actions can help build resilience rather than radicalise. If they were going to join up with some nutter group that they'd do it anyway. In some cases this was a trigger but not the only one nor ever really the dominant one.
CAGE have some legitimate concerns but using JJ isn't helping them imo.

Am I missing something about the Kay Burley interview? The guy seemed to be making two general points...
one seemed to be that we should be looking at all the possible factors in his radicalization to prevent future radicalization. He said that the intelligence services may have played a small part in that radicalization...didn't say it was right but said it was worth the effort to understand every factor to prevent further Muslims being radicalized and that JJ was totally responsible for his own actions and decisions.
The other point was that Muslims should not have to defend themselves and actively condemn terrorism or be viewed as sympathisers and that it doesn't help forcing that point...which is exactly what Kay B was doing.
To be honest she is awful and hasn't helped the situation one bit
From the limited I've heard it is only CAGE who have suggested we need to find out when "JJ" turned out to be a loon.
4-5 yrs ago he was living in London living "relatively normally", now he's the worst we can imagine. Until we understand the path he took and why we won't stop in happening again.

Fact is, nobody forced this lunatic to do what he does, it does because he can and he wants to. As for him being monitored in the UK and intercepted abroad, that does not happen by accident. The security services would not waste valuable time on him if they did not have intel suggesting he needed to be kept an eye on.
He was viewed with suspicion because he was in it up to his neck, as his subsequent actions prove. As for this CAGE outfit, all they seem to be able to do is make limp excuses "a big boy did it and ran away" . Cannot help but wonder what these people are up to in their entirety. Dodgy.
