Private jet collided with snow plough that was on the runway.

In Russia snow plough was drunk.

3 French crew amongst the dead.

How did the snow plough get drunk?

Did someone pour vodka into the fuel tank?

Not sure it is a jokey matter, tbh. And I think we all knows what he meant.

Sad that such things happen,

Isn't Total in competition with Russian energy firms? And a Dassault private jet would be the only one of those at the airport at the time, I would imagine? scratchchin

I am always a bit dubious when the authorities are so quick to apportion blame. If the driver was drunk (as seems to be the claim) would it not be right and proper that such statements should wait until an official enquiry was carried out.

As with any aviation accident, we will probably find there were a whole sequence of factors and errors which combined to put the biz jet and the tractor in the same place at the same time.

It seems drunk snow plough drivers are the new polonium-tipped umbrellas.

I think it's referring to the Total boss not giving a big enough bribe to get the business.

Some speculation on here that it was a Russian hit

Yet the fact is this guy was a big supporter of Russia ...if anything Putin has lost a major "friend in the west"

guardian said:
A staunch defender of Russia and its energy policies amid the conflict in Ukraine, De Margerie told Reuters in a July interview that Europe should stop thinking about cutting its dependence on Russian gas and focus instead on making those deliveries safer.

He said tensions between the west and Russia were pushing Moscow closer to China, as illustrated by a $400bn deal to supply Beijing with gas that was clinched in May.

“Are we going to build a new Berlin Wall?” he said. “Russia is a partner and we shouldn’t waste time protecting ourselves from a neighbour … What we are looking to do is not to be too dependent on any country, no matter which. Not from Russia, which has saved us on numerous occasions.”
