I couldn't give a flying about the Geneva convention.
Genuine question, and ignoring your sausage fixation for a few minutes......do you think that in the 2nd World War all POWs were fair game to be executed by the Germans?

Yes we did the same. War is war and should be settled for good. Look at the Germans after WW1, walked home to their untouched houses as heroes. That's why they had another go twenty years later. In WW2 the allies smashed them and their country to bits have they been back for more?
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Go and read some books you uneducated cretin.MikeGTi said:

I was on H14, just down the road as part of CF LKG.
Now, there were times and situations arose on the ground that made you question yourself over scenarios like this. The only logical thing to do is to rise above it and take the moral high ground, after all, that's what differentiates us as a professional army from them as a terrorist insurgency.
He knew at the time that his actions were wrong and has been caught and punished accordingly.
My main gripe over this whole situation is how the far right wing have picked up on it and are claiming to represent the views of us serving soldiers

I think rollondeath has missed the point of the armed forces. They aren't actually for killing people.
They're primarily for securing UK territory against foreign incursion, with a sideline in securing NATO territory as applicable. Sometimes that will involve expeditionary wars (such as in Iraq and Afghanistan) but those were fought on the basis that they represented a security risk.
Death in battle of the opponents is a usual consequence of achieving the objectives of a campaign, but if we turned up and everyone surrendered, we wouldn't kill anybody at all.
