I remember seeing on Top of the Pops for the first time in Oct 73 when I was 13, became a fan and saw him live many times, a real pro and a gentleman. RIP Alvin

He played an outdoor gig here in guernsey last year, I wasn't expecting much, but Alvin was superb.

Great stage presence & an energy that belied his years.
