Just been watching Dave on BBC news - he's not overly chuffed!
His podium took a hammering from his finger, too .
I watched him live too - surprisingly (having thought this was a gift for Farage) I think he may do well out of this as he actually looked quite Prime Ministerial for a change, almost a hint of Statesman like. Just a hint, mind!
'course he was banging the podium, he's frightened to death he's gonna lose his job and income!

Daniel Hannan put it over much better on the J Vine show. Far more articulate and clever by a mile than CMD. If he were Tory leader they could romp the GE.

As it is, this is all brilliant news for one man and one party - Farage and UKIP.

Nothing seems to be able to stop the Kipper train. I don't think anything will.

Good!

EU demands 1.7 billion.

Cameron acts tough gets them to withdraw the request.

makes big deal about it, you See we are not run by the EU no need to vote Yes to leaving EU.

Cameron and his EU buddies laugh it up and slap each other on the back.
Nah, try this one. EU faced with clear and present danger of multiple nationalist anti-EU parties on the rise throughout Europe. Take from the UK, further fracture the Tory party and strengthen UKIP to give Labour a leg up, who have said no referendum. Give to France, marginally strengthening the pro EU mainstream parties vs NF.

My understanding is that we borrowed that money at 5% and loaned it to Eire at 6%. Why on earth should we call it in?

Mainland Europe have done this to get a rise from us. Odd, as in the grand scheme of things its not a lot of money, (labour blew 10bn on an abandoned it project for the nhs) but they obviously need it.

So Don't fall for it. Call their bluff. Be like the harry enfield loads a money character. Prove to them how good this country is compared to them.

Pull a blank cheque from your shirt pocket, sign it and hand it over. Look how rich we are..

..in fact. Make the cheque out for More. Then ask for the remainder back...if they can afford it...
Let's not forget the deficit - which is exactly what the EU sums did!

Our economy is not doing well - we owe st loads of money to everyone. It's all smoke and mirrors.

Forgive my ignorance as I'm really not an expert in these areas, but wouldn't the way forwards to remain in the European Free Trade Area, but leave the EU, putting us in a similar situation to Norway and Switzerland? Neither country seem to have any issues trading with countries within the EU, yet don't have to listen to the bureaucratic nonsense coming out of Brussels, and don't need to pay for it either?

And is it a coincidence that they are the two European nations in the best state, financially speaking?
My thoughts exactly. It's not like the Germans want to stop selling you cars or the French electricity is it?

Then cut the rate to 3.5%.....

Lending the money was however the best thing to do.

Yep, multi-millionaire David Cameron must be crapping himself with only £30-£70m in the bank!

+ he will probably make more money when he leaves 10 Downing St in the 1st year than the total amount of money he earns whilst PM

It looks like the rules means we don't have a choice.... If we don't pay it they are dumping 2.5% interest on it per month (yes you read that fking right)...

Amazing that if France had told them to eff off, they would have got away with it, but when it comes to the UK, they like to make an example out of them... every time.

I don't mind the UK giving international aid to a country like Germany, they're a major trading partner of ours, they have a solid government and i see them as being very close relations to us in terms of what they stand for and who they are as a people. I'd rather not see our money disappear to places like Italy or Greece though, yes they need support but they're in a mess that they have to get themselves out of and throwing money at them won't do that.
Germany is actually a major competitor to us not a partner. As for trade we've had a massive trade deficit with Germany since we joined the scam and I certainly do mind British money being given away to make the Germans even better off.

Although it is no surprise that the Cons tell British workers to work harder for less to be competitive with Germany when it suits them. While Germany is a 'partner' who we need to pay off when it doesn't.

Its funny how they are moaning about this but it's exactly the same kind of power they just gave to HMRC with accelerated payment notices; Pay now, argue later under the auspice of you having no right to hold onto the money while you contest it through the legal system.

Which sounds like the same logic that Heath used to take us into the scam.IE Britain must pay whatever it takes to bribe Euroland to stop it fighting amongst itself when it doesn't get what it wants.

The only reason why Labour will win the next election is because of the pro EU pro immigration Con voters who would rather see a pro EU pro immigration Labour Party in power than vote for UKIP.
