Not sure why you find that funny.

Would you be happy if the pilot on your flight had just had a pint?
perfectly happy

Would not bother me one little bit.

But then again i'm not the one who has the fked up attitude towards drink who is incapable of having a single pint

"society has deemed it appropriate" - really? Technically, it's permitted legally but I think you'll find that most of sopciety dems it to be inappropriate and socially unacceptable.
Priceless!

'Society' has deemed that driving while drunk is totally unacceptable.

If you think that 'society' deems it to be socially unacceptable to have a pint then drive, then you're more deluded than I thought.

What if you've taken a cold and flu tablet? Is it taxi time then too? Same if you're a little bit tired?

Some people really need to get some perspective.

Yes.

I can only answer for myself but one beer has no discernible relaxant effect on me.

I presume he's just on a windup. Even my fiercely disapproving of everything mother doesn't panic about a small glass of wine before driving. And nobody is as daft as her about stuff like this.

If you've read this full thread then look at Derek Smith's post of yesterday re. low levcels, and also the infographic on limits across Europe.

No wind up. It's your decision. Do what you like - just don't do it anywhere near my children.

1) that was anecdotal not scientific
2) that said nothing about the risks, just the limits.

The most conclusive study shows that a small amount of alcohol makes no discernible difference. That is a fact.

One or two pints never ever has any effect on you? Really?

Then why bother having any limits? Make it a free for all. Let people decide for themselves if they're fit to drive.

If we're being picky then let's call it one pint. One pint of what?

Why what will happen if I have a beer and drive near your children ?

I pity your children - being locked up in the house, dressed in bubble wrap, for 24 hours a day, as the risks of them leaving the house are just too great....

So answer the question - would you risk driving after taking taking a decongestant, if you were tired or after having an argument with the wife?

If so, stay away from my children, you are a menace to society!

I typically would have a pint of Tennants with a meal, or a pint of ale typical strength 4% if just stopping for a beer.

No discernible relaxant effect in either case.

Tremendous - we almost have a 'daily mail bingo' full house.

Irrelevant introduction of children to try and sound like you're somehow a bastion of responsibility - check

Suggest your next move be linking a single beer to increased incidences of cancer or possibly a rant against immigration.

Or a facebook like and share campaign.

This is ridiculous.
