If we leave the EU we will need the USA on our side and independent thoughts, such as recognising Palestine, with be beyond us.

Odd time to bring this up though. It will cost labour votes. Whilst Maureen Lipman saying she will now never support labour again is hardly a surprise, I wonder if a number of others will follow here example.

What Sweden does, or what we do with regards legitimising the Palestinians is immaterial though. If Israel wants a perpetual war then there's nothing we can do.

They're Arabs, so they couldn't run a bath...or a Ba'ath.
Less of the shi'ite jokes sunni.
I had a Persian friend and Iran them all the time.

Not high on their priorities, not strategic or provocative enough. Once Palestine is 'recognised', becoming part of the caliphate next door to Israel will raise the pressure on the US and Europe.

Who would have thought a sixties singing duo could cause so much trouble? They have a lot to answer for do Sunni and Shia.

The Swedes have never forgiven the Israeli's for killing Count Bernadotte in 1948.

There is a big and growing anti-Semitism in in Sweden as well, hardly surprising with multi-culti that some cultures hate others.

Israel are just making themselves look ridiculous. They need to realise what King Canute knew. You can't turn the tide.

I actually find that Swedes are quiet racist. I have even heard the following:

Person A: Wheres so and so? (he was in the toilet)
Person B ( A swede): He is having a ni***r.

And person be really could see that he had said anything wrong! We were all stunned!

True, but it's rather a product of the forced multi culturalism than a trait in the people, although some are racists just like anywhere else. Politicians are forcing old Swedish values to step aside for other cultures and religious reasons, without the ones adhering to them actually demanding so, that causes the us and them mentality that fuels and creates racism.

They already do, including cement destined for building homes and hospitals however some is diverted for their college of tunnel engineering.

Something a lot of people don't know and that is that Israel pays all of the VAT on Palestinian imports.

Of course that doesn't make good BBC TV does it.

Pays the VAT to whom? confused

Are you suggesting that Israel pays the VAT to foreign suppliers and then supplies the goods to Palestinians net of VAT ?

(ignore #4)

Perhaps not very PC, but not very racist either. Guy who said it most likely struggled with translation, it's a pretty common slang term with absolutely no malicious intent.

Really? Well the very large african american driver that was in the front of the mini bus didn't see it that way! Just like in law, ignorance is no excuse! Just because it is a common term doesn't make it ok, acceptable or excuse it in any way!

I would also point out that we are talking about Sweden, not Holland. Different countries, different languages!

Is ignorance an excuse for the very large African American driver?

It's an old word, old term and has nothing to do with the 'n' word. If someone chooses to ignore that and get offended anyway then too bad.

EDIT: And as per your edit, I'm Swedish.
