I have a family holiday booked in Hurghada this month. I believe there were a few incidents in the last week or so, one where 30+ were killed. I work in aviation and this weekend aircraft were diverted away from Hurghada due to military activity in the region. Anyone recently been or have a little more knowledge about how things are out there right now. It seems MSM are a little quiet about what is happening out there???

We're planning to go back to Sharm for the fifth time in May, currently not concerned by the situation out there.

The Red Sea resorts are owned and operated (in the main) by the military or family/friends of; there would need to be either an internal or international political threat to oust the military (not the politicians) for the general holiday maker to be threatened in any way.

Tourist numbers are <25% since all the 'springs' that have happened in the region over the past five years.

The military are financially pissed off, you'll be fine.
