Privately owned station on the A90 northbound towards Stonehaven are still charging 139 odd, refuse to lower the price, if they do they say, it will result in redundancies.

Err, at those prices you won't sell any fuel.

Yup, charging 148.9 for unleaded.

Spokesperson said "The station primarily served haulage firms, but also catered for people in need of an emergency fuel stop between Dundee and Aberdeen."' Are drivers that stupid to need an emergency stop on a 60 mile drive

Interesting. We've already stopped our vehicles from using them, as Stracathro add a surcharge onto our fuel card prices too.

Christ ive been up and down that road a million times I should know this, but is that the one with a rather large café at the back?

at most they will get someone sticking a tenner in. I always used to fill up at Dundee morrisons if I needed fuel.

That's the one, I'm pretty sure you cant see the prices from the road either. would be a bit of a shock pulling up and seeing those prices on the pumps.

I stopped at services on the M90 last summer, was expecting a couple of ppl premium over average which was fair enough.

However, IIRC it was something like 11p per litre more expensive so I stuck in the minimum delivery and stopped again at the next knowingly reasonable place.

For the past 3 weeks or so, prices have levelled off around my journeys - I thought the crude price was still in a downward slump a month ago so, surely, the forecourt prices should still be dropping? Or maybe the retailers have decided not to be so competitive? scratchchin

crude has started to climb a bit..

the point about timing is well said, whilst I am sure some have hedged to some extent, it's not all of them!

2. a range of food of a particular type.
"traditional Scottish fare"

So I take the meaning to be "You may travel far and eat worse"

The reality having eaten there is you would have to go a long way to find worse food.

My assumotion is with £0.56 being tax that leaves about £0.50 for the Retalier / Oil company so really there comes a point I suppose when its not viable to pass the saving on. Even so I think we could have hit £0.99. Still Oil is 58 a barrel today looks like its picked up a lot in the last 2 weeks but again I wonder if thats speculation to try an fix a long term price. If we started fracking in the UK like we should then we could firther diminish the oil price and in effect keep the economey growing as high oil prices only hamper most of the wider enconomey unless you happen to own a north sea oil well

I noticed it had gone up 1p at Sainsburys in Biggleswade this morning. The fracking debate is an interesting one, with crude prices low it makes a lot of fracking and shale oil extraction not worth it which was probably KSA's plan.
