What do we think of this then?

Illegal! Magazine - Big Issue for drug addicts

The idea is that it gives hardcore addicts a source of income that isn't from crime. It actually seems like a fairly good idea. laugh I guess if an addict is going to keep buying drugs (which they are) then it makes sense to give them an incentive to earn their money in "legal" ways.

give me strength!

It is 'good idea' in the same way the 'Big issue' was, to enable people to claim to be self employed in order to claim top up benefits.

so, great benefit for them, not so for us poor tax payers.

I have no idea about the down side or other from the contents.

Would you rather they could claim benefits or resorted to crime, though?

A "kind of" decent idea, but at £2 profit per magazine, how long does it take to sell enough to buy your next hit?

Unfortunately, I think giving blowjobs to dirty old men in public toilets is going to prove rather more economical to your average crack we/skank.

Never mind the subject matter (do you really want to be reading about drug habits on a monthly basis?), I think there's a subtle play going on between beggars asking for money and the public giving a quid to "buy yourself a cuppa" that allows us to conveniently ignore the main issue.

Start blatantly suggesting your proceeds are going to be wasted on class a drugs could be a step too far in our less liberal country.

Benefits would probably not stop crimes, considering the cost and how much an addict gets through.

Drug addicts treatment is what I would rather spend money on than benefits, and this will actually lower crime.
