Christ we'll expect a raft of newcomers then?

Eugh.

hehe

PistonHeads is populated by bullies, most of whom seem to have positions as forum moderators where, having failed the interview to become traffic wardens, they can finally get to revel in their own awesomeness by slapping down the little people.

To be honest, I'm amazed Haymarket continues to be associated with PistonHeads - if they were a public company I'm sure they'd have quickly had their mistake in buying it pointed out to them.

I think PHs brand of sarcastic humour is now on there:

We need a hero.

If only there was a PH'er who could save the place from the grip of frothing 'kippers and pathological advocates of instant thermonuclear war on 3rd generation immigrants by the careful, measured use of an encyclopaedic knowledge of aviation (Spotter Order of Merit, with Anorak Cluster and Bar), an excellent working knowledge of Inland Revenue regulations relating to Small Business Accountancy, and the intricacies of running amateur light opera productions on a constrained budget.

Foolish, I know. Foolish to hope, against hope, that such a combination of talents could ever be found on this mortal earth...dammit. Without such giants to safeguard our treasured forum, PH is surely lost.

Wonder who he means smile

'It's a hotbed for bigots to spout their bile'

'a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a written defamation.'
Which part is false?
And which part damages our reputation?

The comments are great - and that's The Telegraph, imagine if it had been on the Guardian?

You mean we've got a reputation? When did that happen? Is it good or bad?

I must have missed the announcement.

Call me cynical if you wish, but I've noticed that unlike PistonHeads, there always seems to be a lag between user posts being made on the Daily Mail and Telegraph and them actually being displayed. Makes me wonder if some sort of 'moderation' is going on even when they state that it isn't.

This is probably most noticeable when news items about politicians, wars or elections are posted.

How strange is that... surely the newspapers are remaining unbiased in these respects - where's the icon for sarcasm or piggies flying smile

Rich,

Might be a need for moderation though - bearing in mind what gets through is invariably some mental comment, imagine how much daft (sueable) stuff gets posted but not passed?

It's fortunate that we on PH are so very reasonable and level headed.

I hadn't read through the whole post - or the article - so wasn't sure what was being referred to. If I'm the worst they can come up with, PH is doing fine.

I think an influx of Telegraph and Times readers may be just what PH needs to provide a bit of balance to the overtly left wing nature of the website presently.
