As a young teenager I discovered the Jolly Roger Cookbook and spent many an evening in empty fields not far from our house making things go boom.

Did you also keep a book with references to the National Front, Klu Klux Klan and British National Party and watch videos of men being executed under a Swastika flag?

It's not all bad news for Mohammad Khan the terrorist though is it. He's just found out he can get a huge discount on sentencing by liberally applying Superted stickers to his training manuals.

If he was in a foreign country he would only be an insurgent.

2 years jail time seems a bit lenient for this terrorist in the making.

The 2 brothers who attended a Syria terror camp got 4.
The fact he was not even in the same country as the bomb (he was based in Germany when arrested) might suggest he didn't have an imminent terror plot.

Making a bomb is a serious offence, but there is no evidence he was part of an active plot. In fact the very title of this thread seems wrong what terrorist acts had be committed or planned to be called a "terrorist".

Nice, calm, balanced discussion here.

MissMiggins makes a valid point. Whatever the bomb makers state of mind, at least she hasn't dived in head first calling for his execution.

I would suggest everyone look up the documentary 'Hot Coffee' and try to absorb the sledge hammer point the film rams home. It may take a while for some, however.

I'd go for rainbows and unicorns myself. Unicorns are awesome!

Yeah you've got him all wrong. Sure, he was a serving soldier with an obsession for far right groups and immigrants and made bombs and kept weapons, but he's just a wee boy.

The report says the bomb was found whilst his house was being being searched for another reason. I wonder what that was for? Knock down ginger? Stealing pick & mix? The cheeky young scamp!

Hmmm. I played with bangs too, but I grew out of it and didn't have an obsession with the far right. Thankfully he was stopped before he puthis playful wee experiment in a gay bar, mosque or Polish deli.

That's a pretty broad question? I have books covering a huge range of subjects, I'm sure some of them do include at least some references to the KKK or British extremist.

How many on here have watched at least part of an execution video on Liveleak? Not my thing personally, but I've seen plenty of posters talking about doing just that. Maybe there were even swastikas involved?

Sentence inappropriate.
Should have been a lot more
His bomb could have hurt many innocents.

PH. The home of EDL apologists.

He was just a wee boy who accidentally wrote a journal about KKK and EDL and accidentally watched executions with swastikas and accidentally made a nail bomb.

We've all done it. Bit harsh to blame him for a string of unfortunate events like that.

Just a wee immature boy.

So could someone who sets off a large firework in a bus. Shall we jail all firework makers too?

I'm honoured that you are so fixated on that expression. bowtie

Now how do you fancy taking a crack at answering why you think he'll be a hero on here? You've ducked the question so far...

Can you quote my defence of him please? I just answered the questions I was asked.

Not my fault if you see what you want to see smile

I don't think that's going to happpen. He is rather comically preaching on another thread asking some poster to explain his post and warning him 'it reads like a Thornberry tweet' without any irony to his own silly outbursts.

I dislike a lot of the division made by stuff like this.

To me the guy had some terrible ideas in his head, whether implanted by upbringing or what have you. Someone with his stupid thinking is not what you want in a professional army surely?

The little journal thing he drew silly pictures in shows he was hardly mature but it's all as sinister as someone having a bloke in black getup holding a head of the infidel.
