As the poster on page 1 correctly predicted if he was called Mohammed Khan then people would have been calling for his head with page after page of "send 'im 'ome!". As it is the thread contains barely anyone saying he's done anything wrong. Instead he's being excused for being immature and now compared to a fireworks manufacturer.

He does. David Copeland also was quite immature and not a member of a terrorist group. I feel the sentence is appropriate if there were no evidence of intent to use / planning to use.

I said he seemed like an immature wee boy. Which I still think is true. Was he potentially another David Copeland? Maybe he was. Was he a pathetic fantasist who would never have got further than he did? Maybe that's true. I have no idea what was going on in his head and neither do you.
All I know about the case is what I read on the BBC news website. Based on that I'll assume that the courts sentenced him appropriately unless you have evidence to the contrary...

I'm not totally sure his and your assumptions and labeling of people are that much different, except perhaps in your mind it's OK if you do so.

^This!Without clicking the link, my assumption was that some IS supporting nut that got off lightly - a bit of a shock horror to see the culprit being white!
I do agree, if this was anyone from a different background/religion/colour then quite a few PHs would defo be calling for the guys head!
Funny this didn't really make any headline/front page news; if he was a Muslim it'll be a major talking point!
