Really? It seems his gripe is with private landlords and he lives in a rented flat.

You keep clutching your hypocrisy straw though..

He is a monumental bell end though.

I went to see his stand up show off the strength of his Ponderland series and he stormed off before the end of his (not funny and very political) set because he got heckled a few times.

Really? What forum do you post on?

And if you're so annoyed by Russell Brand's hypocrisy, why don't you just kill him? smile

Oh please he bangs on about the "rich" whilst being one, if he is that concerned why doesn't he give his cash away and move into a smaller flat, typical wealthy left winger don't do as I do, do as I say, at least the right wing wealthy make no pretext about their cash and and wanting to hang on to it!
He didn't lose his temper, the reporter was rude to him & the issue at hand is the shoddy treatment of the New Era estate residents at the hands of an investment consortium prepared to discard 90+ families in pursuit of profit. That you focus entirely on the personality of one person you don't like leaves me wondering exactly where you got the word class from in the first place, since your powers of analysis seem to lack it in spades.

Oooh get her.

Brand is a massive bell, saying profit is a dirty word whilst shovelling millions into his pockets.

I like the way he tells the man from the press of his duty to report what he is saying, only to then drag some woman in to shot, call him a snide for challenging him on a different viewpoint and then storm off in a sulk. A hero to only the most idiotic.

Some one touched a raw nerve there.

I think it was a perfectly valid line of questioning given Mr Brand has been on his high horse so much recently.

He's the next David Icke IMO. But with less intelligence.

I felt he did lose his temper actually, it also looked like he went on rant mode (he does that quite well).

A hypocritical, holier than thou, prick of a man, I much preferred him when he stuck to being a crap comedian, now he walks around criticising all and sundry whilst being no better himself I really cannot abide the man.

Maybe, who cares? I simply find the childish focus on the player rather than the ball risible & typical of the usual suspects.

Ooh look at that hypocrite, now what was the issue? Dunno, but look at that hypocrite. Parochial bumfluffery at every turn.

http://www.channel4.com/news/new-era-residents-protest-at-threat-to-triple-rent

Westbrook Partners said:
"Westbrook has sent two letters in the last 10 days, reassuring tenants that Westbrook had no plans to cancel residential leases and that Westbrook was working on appointing a new permanent property manager. Westbrook also confirmed to tenants that that there will be no changes to their residential leases and no increases in rents during the first half of 2015 and that a dedicated tenant liaison officer is in the final stages of being appointed.

"Westbrook and its property manager have not sent any eviction notices or served legal proceedings against any residential tenant.

"Westbrook Partners and its employees are committed to the highest ethics and values in the conduct of its business and are fully compliant with all applicable laws in each jurisdiction that it operates in."
So what's the background to this protest? What is the shoddy treatment?

He has been very outspoken lately and he is now using his fame to move a political cause forward (nothing wrong with that generally speaking) however he can't have it both ways, if he wants to leverage his fame in the media, he should expect to come under some scrutiny and in this instance he lost control and looked stupid, to the point where he appeared to be hiding from some awkward facts!

Quite. The reporter was making a snide remark as an attempt to ignore the issue being protested and concentrate on Brand as a person.

I couldn't care less if Brand was a hypocrite for being a minor celebrity, it detracts nothing from what he has been saying. Accusations of hypocrisy is the last resort for those who have no other arguments.

I've read a few more articles now, so no need to respond. Got to feel for the tennants here. I guess this is the danger of developments like this being in private ownership rather than a housing association.

How the PH thinks:

Support for the left by anyone with 2 pennies to rub together: hypocrite
Support for the left by anyone without 2 pennies to run together: envious.

He is moving a political cause forward, or is he just promoting his book? The book that he obviously receives no income from as that would be dirty profit... LOL
