Russell Brand v The Sun

What battle of wits is that - the accusation was around hypocrisy not wordsmithery. As far as wit goes, Brand having received an award for spouting gobbledigook must help, as any recipient of a foot-in-mouth award for worst written tripe will have editors quaking in their boots. If you're right in support of the idea that this will run and run more than verbal diarrhoea out of a sock in Brand's mouth, we can look forward to more "seemingly endless streams of gibberish, both written and verbal".
Translation - I don't like him.turbobloke said:

Nothing that personal is involved here. All we get to see is his media persona. He might be an appalling person in real life, in which case you could have a point, but at this time you don't.Like him or dislike him and all points inbetween, he did indeed win an award for spouting gibberish, and it was well-deserved.

I'm no fan of Brand but, by God, his ramblings are far more entertaining than the vast majority of bile spouted on here.
How dumb is that, not all posts are intended to entertain. It would be like expecting every dribble from Brand to be informative i.e. simply inapplicable.

A successful lefty seems an easy man to hate - who'd have thunk, envy from the PH right wingers lmao.
It's hypocritical lefties that attract attention. Some may hate them, others just point it out and wait for the usual suspects to knee jerk in defence of hypocrisy.Success from merit is commendable. Where's the envy? You made it up.

It's fear. Anyone who challenges the beneficiaries of a system is to be feared, irrespective of whether their ramblings add up or not and Russell Brand's don't. Not by a long way.I'm no fan of Brand but, by God, his ramblings are far more entertaining than the vast majority of bile spouted on here.

Of more interest is the forensic obsession to the point of prurience so many here have about him. See contributor above.

Complete tosh, Brand is only a threat to good concise English.Abagnale said:

Your flourishing contributions on any subject involving him rather belie the assertion, don't you agree? As you put it earlier, translation: I am not a fan, of Farage or Brand. That much even you should comprehend.
As to fearing him, that's pure fantasy, possibly tinged with wishful thinking. He's not that different to various wolfie smiths that come and go over time, though winning an award for spouting tripe sets him apart to a degree.
Over to you

Kerching.
Good ol' capitalism.
The profits from his book are going towards various good causes. Keep up, we've been over this.Kerching.
Good ol' capitalism.
What about the appearance fees?
Poor sod won't be able to afford his rent at this rate. He could end up in the gutter.

Anyway, if ignoring half of the original post was an answer you'd have a point. There was nothing to suggest Brand is donating appearance fees to good causes, but if he is, good on him for that.
Do we know what happened to the publisher's advance on royalties? That's not technically from sales, and it's a tidy sum usually.

Is that from tomorrow's Sun by any chance?

TB - everybody needs to make a living. He cannot pass up on every source of income he has for fear of being labelled a hypocrite by people like Murdoch. I'm perfectly happy for him to enjoy a minor celebrity lifestyle, as he is A - honest about it, and B - has been working towards a noble cause. I would happily give every spare penny of my income to him over buying one of Murdoch's arserags.Anyway, if ignoring half of the original post was an answer you'd have a point. That's his point though (in the video)... he would happily be the first to buy a coffee or whatever from Starbucks, Amazon, Google, Apple, et al. But would be even happier if they paid their fair dues. But they don't, and they won't. That's all the guy is saying. We are all stuck within the great corporate aquarium. In that respect he is no different from you, me, and every other sucker that pays his taxes to pay for the system that the above mentioned make great capital from. Remember the guy that said "we're all in this together" he wasn't talking ste, was he?Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
