As above title, what's the general consensus?

Policies or personalities, do we know more now because of all the media elements available, or is there no real difference between the pair of them?

Both as hated but the people that hate Blair hate him for different reasons to those who hated Thatcher.

The Blair haters are less likely to make a song and dance about it and hold the grudge for the next 30 years and are more likely to shrug and think "that's politics" whereas the Thatcher haters are more of the knee jerk-never forget mindset.

I'd say Thatch at the moment.

Blair will come with a late run to pip her at the post.

You really think that????

Love her or hate her, I reckon most people at least thought Thatcher was doing what she thought was right for the country, and wasn't acting out of pure self promotion.

Blair, on the other hand? A lying, conniving, deceitful, underhand self-serving scumbag who deserves to be remembered as the most despicable PM this country has ever had and despised for time immemorial.

I think both of you are right.

Thatcher may be more hated because people are generally self-interested and that didn't influence her much when she was making things hard for some people - she just did what she believed in.

Blair is entirely self interested, he always tried so say things that suited the public when he was in power instead of being an actual leader, this meant that people can't be bothered to hate him as much.

Some people really hate Thatcher, but I don't think I've ever come across anyone who actually liked Blair. So it's apples and oranges really.

Equal really, but have a grudging respect for Mrs Thatcher, she was at least consistent, Blair just makes my skin crawl, odious.

weirdly, don't mind David Cameron.

A lot of the people who hate Mrs Thatcher either weren't born or were in single digits when she was around so I think they're fking posers. Personally, I think she was a good one. Mr Blair on the other hand is a fking anus.

Who do I hate most, Blair.

Who do I think the wider public would say; Thatcher. There are people up here who'd blame Thatcher for the current bad weather if they could get away with it, I've heard here blamed for all sorts of things; and even though they'd vote in a rubber dog turd if it was painted red, they would still probably have a word to say about Blair as well, probably an anti-war one.

Over 40 with a memory and a capacity for critical thinking? Blair every time; utter tosser furious

Thatch, over 40 with a memory and a capacity for critical thinking? The best we could have hoped for at the very worst of post-war times. Not perfect, but in the circumstances, the best we could have had. Just think of the alternatives available at that time in her party and the others yikes

The folk that hate Thatcher shout the loudest, which skews the result somewhat. I genuinely believe that most people understand she had no choice but to drag the country kicking and streaming from a 70s tax and spend, unionised disaster zone to a lean market-based economy that is really now the accepted economic model.

Blair was just an actor. He said what he needed to say, but let Gordon do his worst as chancellor for all those years. Now, we see Blair for what he was, full of crap. So Blair more hated for me.

Blair. Evil bd that has left this country in a wonderfully stty situation, and one that we'll all be feeling for a very long time to come.
